I'm taking a computer science class, and our final project could be to analyze tweets.

The professor gave us a spreadsheet of 200,000 tweets (which I think is a weird invasion of privacy because the spreadsheet includes location, time, name, etc).

458 of them are about Coldplay, and all the ones I've seen so far are from the Mexico concert at Foro Sol

i find this kinda interesting :P my question to you is that if your professor could obtain this information then it must be somehow publicly available, right? so it's not really an invasion of privacy... maybe it feels like an invasion of privacy that Twitter could collect that data in the first place, but it would be stated in their policy that either users accept it as a condition for using Twitter or they'd have the ability to opt out of certain info being collected and available.

plus if you're analyzing data, then that information could be very useful to you... sorry this really has nothing to do with Coldplay, it's just that thinking about data collection has become a part of my life now :joy:

I totally understand that :) Sometimes I slow down going to places when I'm listening to a particular song on my headphones and really want to listen to it until the end. I hate it when I started a song and cannot finish it. Sometimes a colleague spots me on the way and starts to make conversation, and then admittedly deep down I think 'oh no, give me just one minute more to finish this song before I start the work day'....

Am I imagining it or are there VERY few proper nouns in Coldplay lyrics? I can think of

Green Eyes

 

off the top of my head.
