  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

From the The Nappies video, is this just Will, or is this Jonny fumbling around with drumsticks? Somehow I think this is Jonny

There was also this interview which is very old . It was filmed in 2001. There was also a Coldplay jam session with Jonny playing the drums (you reminded me of it because of the The Nappies video:D) Look at around 0:51

I also remember Jonny saying that he secretly wants to be a drummer if they would switch roles !

This evening I was at a kind of pub/restaurant with some colleagues. Opposite me was a screen on the wall that showed music videos and ads, but with no sound, and I occasionally glanced at those because there was no conversation. At some point, some kind of castle was on the screen, and I had the feeling I had seen it before somewhere but I first I thought it was an ad. Next, I saw an Indian procession, and the feeling of deja-vu got more intense, but I totally couldn't place it !

Then the video title popped up underneath and it said "Coldplay and Beyonce - Hymn For The Weekend", oops :D

So I watched the HFTW video with no sound until someone who couldn't see the screen from his seating angle asked me if I'm alright and why I've been staring at the wall, lol.

I'm so happy right now.

I guess Hypnotised is the best birthday gift I ever received!

:p

Happy belated birthday! You're so lucky, you share the birthday date with Chris Martin!!!!

I've been on my own to several concerts and, for Coldplay, I always end up meeting people beforehand and having a great time talking with fans :)

Do you have a standing or a seating ticket?

I'd recommend to check out the threads in our Coldplay Live section. There is one for each concert, and, closer to the date, there's always someone offering to meet up sometime while queueing or after the concert. Or you can be the one to ask :)

I know that I always end up talking to other fans and it's awesome. I can understand that if you're shy it can be a bit difficult though.

People I've seen in the queues, especially the ones coming early, are generally very nice and quite friendly :)

As for the concert itself, even if you haven't met anyone to spend it with, I say just focus on the show. The band share so much, they have such a great energy, you won't feel lonely at all! Just take it all in!

Thanks, I got standing tickets :D

Thank you soooo much, lovely people! :kissing_heart:

Imagine my face the day I found out that I share my birthday with him :eyes:

on my way to the grocery store this morning, i saw an abandoned pair of dress pants on the sidewalk and obviously that's weird, but my first thought was, i wonder if there was a GPASUYF situation going on and someone just disappeared right in the middle of the sidewalk :P

I just got back from church, and while I was there, the choir started singing "My song is love unknown....love to the loveless shown." I was a little surprised; I had no clue those lyrics were from an actual hymn!

stunned.gif.a1d10ea24a1ddf09a12a3974dcf55454.gif Wow, great find!

yep, in a song Chris wrote while he was naked no less :p

Is that why you like it ;P

Had a legit shower thought not too long ago. Was thinking about the LPs and their relation to one another and what that means for LP8 (lol, i know).

So, its pretty accepted by fans (and the band themselves) that the first 3 were a trilogy. I see Viva and MX being standalones with no real connection to each other or the other LPs. However, I do see a connection between GS and Dreams with the band doing the 'light and dark' theme, or at least, what i interpret as a 'light and dark' theme.

So the grouping in my mind is: LP1-2-3 LP4 LP5 LP6+7

Does this mean we're moving into a completely new direction for LP8 or did I just imagine the connection between LP6+7 and we should expect another trilogy for LP6+7-8? I know i'd prefer to have LP8 be totally different, but who knows.

it's funny because i feel like the collection of the first three albums by both us and the band is more of an arbitrary trilogy than anything else, just combined because of shared pre-VLVODAAHF status :p then to me definitely VLVODAAHF is its own thing. MX felt like the start of another set, but then was disrupted by GS and AHFOD, which are definitely a set. so i think that maybe LP8 would be separate from that also, like MX, the beginning of a new phase. perhaps even more so now that the next album will most likely come after all of the guys have hit 40...

i'm more confident in that grouping because it came more from the band than fan speculation, but at least our conclusion is the same :D
