It was a split second of madness/stupidity, he clearly thought the way Krul was rushing out that he was going to make some form of contact or at least get close but he slid away from him and curled his body up. Andy didn't get the contact, already decided he was going down, and he looks over at the assistant when he's sliding, he knows he has totally fucked it up and makes sure not to appeal. If you watch one of the slow motion replays you can see him pull his left leg up, throws his arms up and decides to collapse, its really un-natural looking, it's not what someone does if they're trying to keep their feet on the ground. Sorry but there's no doubt in my mind.

Arguably more disgraceful was how he left the field, he doesn't have any right to speak like that to manager/staff if he played brilliantly, but to infamously fuck up that chance/dive and then react like that, what a total douchebag.

Yeah, i'm thinking we should maybe just cut our losses now and sell him. I feel for him because we've made no attempt to play the way his style requires. He seems to be getting increasingly frustrated. Maybe sell him and Adam and some of the bit part players and start again. Bring back Aquilani and Cole and sign Marin and Rossi. I know that wont happen but I can dream. :laugh3:

Aquilani won't come back and I doubt Cole will but I agree Samuel. You would draft those players right back into the side at an instant right now if they were available. Try Aurelio again at left back and give Enrique time on the bench to assess his form.

And I too was disappointed with Carroll on Sunday. His reaction to Kenny was out of order and the fact he was nearly close to tears shows he's finding life really hard at the moment. I feep sorry for him.

I think I've said this before but the problem with selling Carroll is that there's going to be a huge dip from what you've paid for him, and the owners aren't going to accept that, so unless you get lucky and a team like Villa thinks he's still worth 25-30million it's going to be difficult to offload him, even if Kenny wants to.

Adams still worth keeping, he has had a poor season but I think he's undervalued right now and you'd get cheated, at least give him another season. As for Marin and Rossi, sorry but not a chance, if they're going anywhere this summer it's going to be for a club that finishes top 3 or 4.

But we can all dream, I'd like Andy back for a fraction of what we sold him for, never going to happen. I'd also like for us to keep all of our most effective players this summer, can only hope.

I thought Jose Enrique was one of the few positives to take away from this season? I wouldn't have seen that many Liverpool matches but I thought the fans approved generally.

The League is a write-off now it's all about beating Everton in the semi and then hopefully going on to win the cup which would set up a nice Community Shield game with Man United too.

Fingers crossed

Nah Aquilani wont come back and I dont blame him. Three managers in a row have ignored and not given him a chance. As for Cole, he's been playing well for Lille and he has a better attitude than some in our squad so he'd be like a new signing if we could get him back. Aurelio is another that I like but I can't see him getting in front of Enrique, apart from Bellamy, he's been our best signing and the only one whose proved value for money excluding Suarez.

I'd take £10m for him. Teams will see what he did for Newcastle and hope they can replicate that. Someone will want him. Also, after Sunday's outburst, I'm wondering if Kenny will ever play him again. What he did was unprofessional. As for Adam, he started well but he's got worse as the team have. Give him another season but I don't think I'd trust him in the first team ahead of Lucas, Gerrard or Spearing.

Beating them in the semis would be enough for me. I don't dislike Everton and don't participate in the hatred just because they're our rivals. David Moyes is doing a great job and they have some brilliant players.

The trouble is, the worse we get the harder it will be to keep hold of Reina, Suarez, Lucas, Agger and Skrtel. Gerrard and Carragher wont leave now and I'd be surprised if Johnson and Kuyt did but this could be the beginning of our path towards mid-table obscurity from one season to the next. We will find it difficult to attract the best players now as well.

Now you put it that way. Sad it is to think how we have now sunk to vying for league position with Everton.

Last time they finished above us however...

Well worth the 7 million we spent on him but his form since January has been erratic at best. Stunning first half, but like most of the squad a very poor second half. He's been all over the place at times.

Barca 2-1 Milan

Yeah but this was my point, plenty of teams would pay £10m for him, and also plenty of fans, and maybe even Kenny, would be happy to take that, but would the board accept a £25m loss on a player 18 months on? I can't see it happening.

He's becoming what you call a liability, you paid too much for him and now you can't leave him on the bench or sell.

Messi on another hat trick. He has 8 already this season, Rooney has 7 in his CAREER. Unbelievable.

Bayern strolling through to probably play RM. 4-0 on aggregate, 2-0 on the night. Olic got them both.

He seems to be in a desparate state. It's a terrible shame for him. Maybe we'll just have too settle for him and hope he comes good. :\

Before that reaction to Kenny there was no signs, but you're right it appears that way now. You can hope it was a one-off and they aren't used to seeing him act like that- Kenny was stunned.

I'm also watching Barca, who aren't playing particularly well, but they're still fairly easily gliding through the defence of Italy's top team right now.

I'm not watching the Barca but see that Aquilani is playing. If anyone is watching, how's he doing?

I didn't really notice to be honest, but if you're asking in the hope he might be back to Liverpool, I heard like a few weeks ago he only needs to make 2 or 3 more appearances for Milan before he automatically is transferred for £5m, I'm guessing that may be up by now or will definitely be soon.

I didnt hear about that. We paid £20m for him and now, all of a sudden, without him being given a chance we have made a £15m loss on him! Oh well, looks like it's gonna be another summer of £100m spent on mediocre British players!

Chelsea 1-0 Benfica (2-0) Lampard PEN, 20

looking like a juicy S/F against Barca

I tthought Benfica were disappointing. They didnt deserve anything.r

3 out of the remaining 4 semi-finalists in the Europa league are Spanish.

Is that interesting? I don't even know, but we never chat about the Europa league. :blank:

interesting yes, insofar as it says more about la liga despite its lack of parity. I haven't really followed it, but its something to handily beat hannover and schalke. Not a fluke either with athletico winning it a couple years ago.

When watching Real Madrid thrash an Osasuna side who have had a great season at home, 5-1 last Saturday, I had a discussion with others about how there's something about that league where clubs absolutely collapse against the top 2. Osasuna weren't playing horrifically, and Real Madrid didn't play terribly well, but there's a real difference in confidence when it comes to making/taking chances, and we see it all the time with Barca as well, often they can play in a fairly competitive match (Up until the dying 20minutes or so) and come out in a 5 goal rout. That kindof outcome is rare in the Premier League for example, if a team wins by 4 or 5 its almost always an outstanding display, with the Spanish league teams that are capable of performing as they have been in the Europa league or against teams other then the top 2, they just impale themselves when they meet Real or Barca.

Its quite sad because it really makes the league look like a joke, when there is a lot of talent there. I still think that despite its decline in Champions League, English teams are still the best in the world right now- because there isn't a huge difference in quality between a team like Man United and a team like Aston Villa, but you look at their league position and it appears there is, most matches are very competitive and of good quality.
