Bonus_mosher
It definitely is... Chelsea are going to struggke to gel with their new signings. and man utd will drop form with the loss of ronaldo and while everybody is thinking of them, we'll sneak ahead of the rest. and as for flattery, who said it isn't just you that makes me crumble? :wink3:

Black Rose
Man Utd has to sell Ronaldo, seeing as they have had to pay the bloke who owns Tevez 32 million to make him their asset. Shaun Wright Philips to Pompey (as Sulley Muntari is heading for Inter Milan)?
Bonus_mosher
yeah I read about wright-phillips too. I think it's the right decision for him to make going to pompey, I think if he goes it will only help his career. being at chelsea is no good, they're bringing in more top payers every year and he gets less chances in impress. I agree this whole thing with Tevez could be the reason united give in to madrid.
Black Rose
Madrid come in with offer for say £50 million, Sir Alex might not like it but Uncle Malcolm might say yes, if only to pay off some of the debts of Man Utd. The day Fifa bring in their debt rules, Man Utd will be screwed
RedGirl76
But wouldn't it be amazing to see him benched... :smug:
Bonus_mosher
I agree with both of you. I would love to see the debt rule come in, then again, I think most major clubs would be screwed INCLUDING Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool. But then maybe there'd be better competition for the league. it's boring knowing one of 3 teams is going to win it. What Fifa should do is split the league into two tiers. like the scottish league does at the end of every season. make it more interesting for the bottom 16 clubs in the league :P and it would be HILLARIOUS to see ronaldo benched for a season, but there's a rule that if a player doesn't play in more than 30% of games he can leave the club. so, it's not really going to do them any good. RedGirl76
So have him sit on the bench for a month then start him in the necessary matches and bring him off at the earliest possible moment I'm female... we're born with the bitch gene!
Black Rose
But wouldn't it be amazing to see him benched... :smug: But is he is benched for a certain percentage of available games, he can claim breach of contract and his contract voided = free move to madrid
Black Rose
They should make the premiership smaller, to say 18 teams. Good or bad idea?
Bonus_mosher
I'm not sure about making it smaller, what will that achieve?
RedGirl76
Great idea - if our players played less (and therefore the same amount as those in other European leagues) the national team might do a bit better!
Bonus_mosher
but what does that say about our players? foreign leagues play in the same amount or more games every season, the spannish, the italian, the german, and they play better internationally, it would just be said that the english is lazy. this is true, but it's not the point! RedGirl76
But the Spanish and Italian leagues are smaller than ours - plus I don't think they have two cup competitions like us - do they?
Bonus_mosher
yes, they do, and their leagues both have 20 teams, who they play twice. there's no difference whatsoever.
RedGirl76
Except their national squads have won trophies in recent memory... So what do you think we need to do to win stuff - or at least qualify for the tournament???
Bonus_mosher
Better players. we need to stop relying on lampard and gerrard and gary neville, they're all getting into their thirties. we don't have any young good talent. with maybe the exception of rooney whoturns his talent on and off like a tap and david bentley who's still not good enough. RedGirl76
Of all the footballers I hate (and it's a long list), Gary Neville is at the top of my list. I used to be a big Liverpool fan when I was a kid - the longer I live here, the less I care - but I think Gerrard is inconsistent to say the least, and him and Lampard clearly can't play in the same team
