i didn't hate it but the DM cover goes so much better with the song and is so cute...that Hype one just feels like its lacking something...can't put my finger on it...

I don't know what it is. Maybe the way it was filmed, but the official video just seems....lazy to me. I think it's cheesy and I cringed a couple times. I don't know. I personally think the second one is sooooooo much better and clever. The end with Will, Jonny, and Guy walking up and singing is awesome.

I like the 2nd video a lot, but I'm a bit disappointed it's all Chris considering they're supposed to be trying to get away from the COLDPLAY = CHRIS MARTIN thing. Jonny, Guy and Will could at least have been his servants or carried the painting for him. Still, I like it a lot and that last scene is great.

wow dont like the official video at all except for the last 10 seconds where it was atleast something different.... seems it was a rushed shoot infront of a green screen in a few hours.. (granted i understand they don't have time to make a few days shoot video)

I know in keeping with the whole "video cover" meant that the lead singer would dominate the video... I felt that in choosing to cover the video that they did, was maybe a poor choice. Only because of the fact that I would have liked to have seen all of the band members more...

 

I do appreciate the humor though, and I can enjoy it more knowing it was in good spirit. I love me some depeche mode :)

I like the itunes ad better. The ending part is the only thing I quite like in that official first vid.

having jsut re-watched the original DM video I can honestly say I think Coldplay's version is better..the song works better...and let's face it - I don't think Jonny, Will, and Guy are heartbroken that they aren't in it more...they were probably in a pub somewhere:D

And Coldplay, please release the 2nd one. It's so brilliant and funny and it fits the song perfectly. The first one is just...filler, in my honest opinion. An extended iTunes commercial that will do nothing to make you guys look better. BUT THE SECOND ONE...it's genius. Pure genius.
