Coldplay and your family!

Featured Replies

My mum really likes Coldplay, esp. trouble and violet hill.

My dad doesn't care about music really so he might know who they are but I don't think he likes them.

Mother hates them with a passion, enjoys pointing it out at all times

My brother really likes them. My dad quite likes them too :D

my mom liked them years before i did, used to play AROBTTH nonstop in the car while i listened to the beatles on headphones with my discman :dozey:. she really tried to get me to really listen to it, too, and i was always like "yeah, some other time."

so, by the time i became rabidly obsessed in 2005, we already had the albums lying around the house!

my brother always hated them, up till this year when he must have been struck by lightning and suddenly started listening to good music. he started off by asking for me to send him random songs over AIM, and then one day this year he just came into my room and said "fuck it, i need all the albums" in this sheepish, defeated way. he gradually listened to them more and more until i brought him to the today show with me this june and developed a man-crush on guy and fell in love with it all, so now he's really into them.

my dad isn't really much of a music guy. back in 2003, before i even liked coldplay, his sister (my aunt, who really is a big coldplay fan) gave him AROBTTH. i dont know if he ever listened to it, but he can recognize "clocks" and thinks it's a "lovely song." he's just pretty indifferent, i think.

husband is jeoulous of the time i spend thinking about them, kids love em:rolleyes:

my poor husband don't even have the time to think that i am thinking about them..:laugh3:Ofcourse i do think about them a lot too especially Chris!

but any way we go to all the live shows together...;)

and he is also interested in some of their songs very much and also shouts more than me at the concerts...well i don't scream at all but always keeps on singing with Chris!:D

last time my husband even distributed signs along with me in philly helped me in printing signs and also Held them up during encore too.:)

My husband before going to Today show said that you dressed really well,if they see you i think they will call you on stage for playing songs"hey beautiful lady come here":laugh3:

i said they probably don't as for his words to make it true Chris smiled and looked at me...;)

and about my parents and family they even encouraged both of us to go to live shows too!

saw our live photos and enjoyed them a lot.

and they both like coldplay because before i was married every day i used to come to this forum and used to listen them so loudly in my room and also showed some live shows on youtube to my dad too.

and i used to eat in front of my monitor looking at live shows and my mom used to watch it too!

All my family likes them.My dad, my little brother, my older brother and his fiancee went to the Berlin concert, my mother and her boyfriend to Paris. My mom's boyfriend plays bass and the guitar so he plays their songs once in a while. But I don't live with them all so I don't how how many times a day they listen to Coldplay

I have gotten my mother to like their music, her boyfriend to really like their music, my big brother thinks (especially) their new album sounds cool, my big sister likes some of their songs, but she's said she find them a little boring (! :stunned: she obviously doesn't know them or their humour) and my father probably doesn't know them.

If I am going to a Coldplay concert my mother and her boyfriend will be going too. Maybe my brother would too?

In 2003, my brother asked me if I could buy the two Coldplay albums for him as I was going into my town. I bought them for him.... When we went on family holidays in that year, we listened to them a lot in the car....this is how I became obsessed for AROBTTH.

My brother likes them a lot, but since I became obsessed I think he moved away from them a little lol. I went to see them with him in December 2005 though, both standing and a couple of rows from the front. :nice:

My mum also came to this show, but had a seat near the very back. She loved it though.

My dad doesn't mind them, think he likes AROBTTH....he says his favourite song is A Whisper :nice:

Pallavi, I can't wait to meet your husband and You

My family is sort of crazy when it comes to Coldplay.

My sisters aren't really big fans of Coldplay. They're more in to the Jonas Brothers,Hannah Montana crowd but my sister in law is a Coldplay fanatic. 100x more than me!

She has a room dedicated to Coldplay and knows everything about them.

My brothers in law are insane fans as well. Same with my husband, so that's good.

Me - Love EM!

Dad - does not know they exist

Mom - same as dad

Oldest bro - Says they are "ok"

Older sis - Same as mom and dad

Older bro - Got him hooked through X&Y and now he is almost as addicted as me....ALMOST

My dad's a musician, so he's always appreciated their music. My mom is just not musically inclined whatsoever so she doesn't really have any opinion.. but I did get my 9-year-old brother obsessed with them! Starting him early.. He's heading down the right path!! :D

Motherling: Thinks they have nice music

Dad: Has heard of them, thinks they're okay

Step-mum: Dunno XD

Sister: Only likes their recent popular singles

My family tolerate them, but wish I wasn't so obsessed.

My sister sort of likes them (way more than she wants to admit, I think) I certainly have to go looking whenever I want to listen to VLV. But she really hates that I like them so much. I think it makes her feel guilty for liking them at all. Or scared that I'll want to talk about them to her. I'm not sure which... :stunned::lol:

My dad doesn't really know them, but he knows about Gwyneth/Chris and thinks Gwyneth is hot. :P My step-mom likes them, she only has AROBTTH though, and doesn't know any of their newest stuff. My mom kind of knows them, likes Violet Hill, and is otherwise pretty much indifferent. Oh, and my brother secretly likes Chris, but pretends he hates the band... shhh, don't tell anyone. :P

Pallavi, I can't wait to meet your husband and You

Sure,i already said him that you asked me to do the jersey signs and wants me to pass the signs...

so when we come there i will look for getting the signs from you,so in the process we can meet with each other...

PARENTS-they dont really care!

BROTHERS- one thinks their ok and the other doesnt care and doesnt like them!

SISTERS-dont care and dont like them!!

My mom loves Coldplay. :D

And I converted my best friend into a Coldplay/Radiohead fanatic. He used to just listen to mainstream country and Christian pop.

my mother has now yelled at me twice for playing the song Viva la Vida so loud they can hear it upstairs (but i like playing it loud and singing along...=(

and my best friends mother has coldplay on her ipod. but only the old singles-in my place, yellow etc.

Dad - loves them, Realy got me hooked During the end of AROBTTH, Start of X&Y era. But his favourite song is The Hardest Part  And He Hates The Scientist:angry:

Mum - Likes them by songs but couldnt realy name the songs. She thinks Chris is "Nice" and Thinks Viva La Vida is Called "Rule the World" :\

Sister - Doesnt realy Care. But likes Viva La Vida. :)

And All My friends Basically Either think there Ok, or Downright Hate them. With Either "God All there songs sound the Same" or "Is that the High pitched Yoooouuuuu Are.... Guy?" I Basically forced 3 of them to come with me to the Liverpool Show in December. And are So Excited. Nearly like them as much as me. Nearly;)

Hmmm.

My Sisters--- they like coldplay and know some songs of them and sing it along when i watch the live 2003

My other sister---- only likes shiver... i think.... she's a little teenager so she follows the trendy stuff... and goes with the pop music... which I loathe... Shes bothered i have all coldplay songs on my mp3 which i see no reason to be bothered about.

My Brother--- likes violet hill (hes a heavy metal kind of guy you know metallica, etc.) But i pretty like slipknot(hehe and disturbed hehe) but thinks their rubbish also.

My mom--- She says "i dont know them are they famous" COmeon!!! She like Mariah Carey and her poppy tunes (ewwwww.. she likes the bimbo)

My dad---- i dont know...... but he hears and sees me watching the viva la vida vid on mtv he says" Its your song your band coldplay" I get really annoyed by that.....

My brother hates Coldplay, and I'm not sure if my Mom or Dad even know who they are.

Dad- has no idea who they are, but he did drive me to the their concert, lol!

Mum- doesn't know their songs except for VLV. Thinks I'm in love with Chris.

Sister 1- Likes them, went to the concert with me, but hasn't heard any of their albums, only knows their singles. Downloaded "VLVODAAHF" and told me "it's shit". Attempts to beat her up over it were futile.

Sister 2- Changes the station whenver they come on and rolls eyes everytime I mention them.

Friends: know I love them but are "so-so" about them. I'm trying to convert them so that they'll come to the concert next year.

mom- loves them... i recruited her. :D

sister- hates them and loves to make fun of them to piss me off... but has them on her ipod? :P

dad- probably secretly hates them since i play them all the time, but claims they're "okay".
