Now That We Have It....REACTIONS

I just had a thought...

If Lost+ had been Lost? and LiJ (Osaka Sun Mix) had been LiJ (Acoustic), I think the flow of this EP would've been nearly perfect. I think I'll burn a copy that way.

Spot on!

I´ve been sooo good! I have resisted the full leaks and will go and get the EP in about 2 hrs time! From your reviews, it looks like I am in for a big treat! Looking so much forward to it!

I m in love with Prospekt's March N Postcards.so beautiful

the guitar part in rainy day is awesome

i gave it an 8

jesus christ! i've been listening to it for 5 or 6 times now and i'm totally in it right now. I cant even describe it. I'm speechless, this is just so great music. They give and give, it's just amazing to see! I dont mind the lost+ and LIJ on it. And postcards is just so ridicolously beautiful even tho it's short. And GoW! It's just perfect, i love the ending! LiT II just blows me away. How was it even possible for them to turn a perfect song into something even more perfect? I'm amazed.

Rainy Day is great too! I love to hear them play something different every once in a while. poppyfields too just adds to my great impression of the ep, so does the last song. brings back real good memories from parachutes somehow.

all in all this thing is epic. we should be greatful they gave us such a masterpiece less than half a year later than the release of their lp.

As I said, they give and give. It's great to be a coldplay fan.

without a doubt: they are the greatest band ever.

All right...time for me to come out of the lurkzone.

Life in Technicolor II - Love this, although I can't really decide whether or not this should have been the LiT version that made it onto VLV, as while a complete instrumental was a nice opening, I consider this the superior version.

Postcards from Far Away - Certainly a nice, brief piece of music. I don't think it stands out too much, though had this worked its way onto VLV, it would have made for a nice "intermission" track in the middle. As it stands, it's certainly a pleasant listen.

Glass of Water - Being late to the party, does that mean all the praise for this song has already been lavished? Hell no. Certainly my favorite track on the EP, as well as one of the catchier songs in Coldplay's library, this song blends every element that made me love this band in the first place.

Rainy Day - Agreed with the consensus that this is an innovative departure from the Coldplay norm, and I'm letting it grow on me. It may take a while for it to settle among my list of favorites, but I already like it better today than yesterday, with a fun mix-up of instruments. The chorus background is also reminiscent of Viva La Vida (the song).

Prospekt's March / Poppyfields - Though short, this strikes me as one of the band's stronger songs lyrically. Strong imagery and metaphors, though the delivery of the "separate sky" bits is what puts this over the top for me. Also good to know that as powerful as their recent styles are, the band can always still fall back on its roots for the same quality.

Lost+ - Look, I can totally understand not simply wanting to release this as the single's B-side due to the collab being of a larger scale than perhaps the acoustic version. I guess my main problem with including this on here is the simple fact that I was never a fan of Lost+ when I first heard it, and not much has changed since then.

Lovers in Japan (Osaka Sun Mix) - Oh goodie, now I can burn Lovers in Japan onto mixtapes without using another program to slice off Reign of Love. I know that's not hard, but it's still useful. Could have done without this on the EP all the same, though.

Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground - I'm truly debating whether or not I like this better than Til Kingdom Come, which I always felt was an adequate closer but not the best one. I'll give it time.

Overall, better than what you would normally get with an EP, keeping up the same quality we received with VLVODAAHF. Even when you take away the two mixes, six quality songs is nothing to scoff at for an EP.

I wish they would start playing the new version of Life in Technicolor for their concerts!

That would totally pull the rug out from under everybody if they unexpectedly kicked off with this. I'm seeing Coldplay in Anaheim next week, and while I'm not holding my breath for it, it would completely blow me away if they switched up LiT in order to promote the release of Prospekt's March.

GOD I love it!!!! I love every single song BUT Lost +

I'm listening to Life in Technicolor ii right now and...yea fucking amazing!!!

Can't wait to listen to the rest!

I'll post my opinion on the whole thing later!! :D

Went to my local music store and found both the EP and LP version of Prospekt´s March! I feel so lucky to have them both on first day of release. YAHOO!

Now I am listening to Viva La Vida followed by Prospekt´s March (2nd listen), then I´ll post my two cents :)

I am done. Here it goes:

Life In Technicolor ii: Hard not to sing along at the top of your lungs when it goes ooh ooh ooh!! It is truly majestic and retains its beauty also with lyrics, which are by the way very good!

Postcards From Far Away: It is very short but a beautiful interlude between songs. A slow melancholic classic piano piece which really conveys the spirit of the title!

Glass Of Water: Super contrast to the previous track! I love Coldplay when they pump up Johnny´s guitar volume! It´s bombastic and happy ! I love it!

Rainy Day: Violins with a super poppy prelude and hawaian-style guitar all in one song? Is it even possible? It is with Coldplay and it makes for a great track. You will dance during the verse and be swept away by the chorus.

Prospekt´s March: Delicate song with philosophical lyrics about time and death. I found it absolutely lovely and the part that goes "Drowns here it comes" had me dropping my jaw: utterly beautiful note sequence. And I could sing the end over and over again...fantastic!

Lost +: I must admit it I did not like it when I first heard it as a single, however the rapping part is growing on me and I actually think it fits and enhances the song in a weird kinda way. A good variation of the already excellent Lost!

Lovers In Japan (Osaka MIx): As many have already said, not much difference from the album version but this version is more rocky and minus Reign of Love. I personally don´t prefer it to the VLV track.

Now My Feet Won´t Touch The Ground: Nice little acoustic jewel to end this wonderful EP. The brass was a huge surprise but it fits!

CONCLUSION: This EP in my opinion is even more experimental than VLV was and it just confirms the boys can not help making beautiful music, whether it is with guitars , brass or violins! I love how the death/life thematic was carried on throughout Viva and the EP. Both are huge hymns to life to be sure! Coldplay is to date the only band that can bring a HUGE grin on my face when I listen to their songs. Such a gift! I defy you to listen to this EP and not having your head and heart in the clouds...thank you Coldplay!

I'm in America so it hasn't been released yet, but I heard it on some spanish radio station (los40 or something) and I have to say, Prospekt's March ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:guitarist::guitarist::guitarist::drummer::drummer::drummer::singer::singer::singer:

Lets see the Jonas Brothers or Miley Cyrus release something like this!

I'm lovestoned at the moment so no can do.

Lovestoned! Ahahaha! That's brilliant and needs to become one of the My Moods :D

I've played the entire EP about 4 or 5 times now, and I've stopped now, cos I want to savour the newness for as long as possible. It's HARD.

I'm going to try and write a review soon.

I gave it a big fat 0. yes 0, because I haven't heard it yet, and I will not crack to listen to it leaked, or any other way than until I get hold of my own copy which I have been informed will be in the post as I speak, hurrah!!!!

10/10.

although i still don't like lost+ that much.

but all the other songs are way too great, so i don't mind the jay-z version being on there.

it's brilliant, LiT ii and glass of water are my favs.

got my copy yesterday and listened like a million times so far, heh.

okay.

life in technicolor ii: ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. i love the lyrics of this song sooo much, they're so beauitiful and have so much meaning. plus, they fit perfectly with the sound of lit.

postcards from far away: gorgeous, gorgeous song!! this song is so freaking relaxing!!! whenever i listen to it all my problems seem to disappear, and i get lost in the piano. god, chris is so talented to be able to play like that! wonderful job!

glass of water: probably my favorite song on the ep right now! such a great metaphor for a song and they pulled it off amazingly!! the guitar, and the beat, it's such a fantastic song that makes me want to run around my house dancing and screaming the lyrics at the top of my lungs (i did it.)!

rainy day: completely different from what i was expecting, but fantastic!! what a great song!!

prospekt's march/poppyfields: phenominal song. so elegant and beautiful, and just makes you want to jump into your speakers.

lost+: i prefer the original, but i do like this version still. even jay-z can't ruin such a wonderful song like lost.

lovers in japan, (osaka sun remix): almost exactly the same as lij the original, so i love it with all my heart. fantastic, fantastic song that keeps me going whenever i'm down.

now my feet won't touch the ground: AH. MAZING! this song made me cry, along with most of the other ones when i first heard it. no words, at all, can describe the true wonders of this song.

absolutely phenominal ep. 9823723532915/10. :D

I tell you, I'm going to be at their first UK gig, and I'm holding my breath for a setlist change of EPIC proportion. :D

I have to admit I am truly blown away. Completely.

I have been listening to it on repeat for 5 hours.

I talked my Dad's head off about it. lol.

Favorite tracks so far are "Glass of Water", "Rainy Day", "Prospekts March", and "Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground".

:D Listening to this has made my whole day.

I love it all.

But Rainy Day is fucking amazing.

Great EP but i don't like lost feat. Jay-Z. Lost is not my fav song of all colplay songs... sorry.

Is the Osaka Sun Mix of LIJ actually different apart from a few extra "Ohhh"s here and there? I know they said it's more like the live version but I can't tell the difference, maybe some different guitar parts from Jonny? No idea. Anyway, LIT ii is one of the best songs they've done. Glass Of Water, I'm not really feeling it. The other new tracks will take a few listens, not as immediate as I found some of the tracks on Viva La Vida, but so far so good.

This disk is everything I wanted it to be and more. Ive only made it to rainy day so far and this CD is the single best thing ive heard from coldplay. It is absolutely amazing. LITCii Is FAR better then I ever imagined it would be. Couldnt be happier.

I bought the digital copy cause I couldnt wait until tomorrow. My local stores arent releasing it till tuesday. :(

But im still getting the hardcopy tomorrow!!!!

COLDPLAY... THANK YOU

BTW: Please dump Jay-z. That will be a track i will forever skip on my CD changer which currently has:

1: Parachutes

2: A Rush Of Blood To The Head

3 :X&Y

4: Brixton academy Concert. :) < Prospekts March is going here

5: Viva La Vida

6: Live 2003

1. LiT ii - Brilliant! Can't Fault it, Hope they Play it Live soon. 9/10

2. Postcards From Faraway - Excellent, Would have liked it longer, but doesnt mean its less good. 8/10

3. Glass Of Water - The Offspring of Coldplay and Muse, 9.5/10

4. Rainy Day - Hasn't Realy Grown on me Yet, It may do 6/10

5. Prospekts March/Poppy Feilds - So-So Realy... Bit Blanc 6.5/10

6. Lost + - Not For Me 6/10

7. Lovers (Osaka) - Basically Just whats on VLV, Still very Good 8/10

8. Now My Feet Wont Touch The Ground - Better than #5 Kinda Catchy 7.5/10

Overall, i think 7/10 is Fair

has anyone in the US gotten it yet ( ordered mine from Amazon)

LIT II - Amazing Song. This honestly should have opened the actual album, or at the very least bookended it. Ie. DAAOHF then LIT II then The Escapist...but that's just me.

Postcards From Far Away - I read a review on here where someone said it was good that this song was in the middle of two epic songs and it's true, it's a good little bookmark as it were, although I wish it were longer.

Glass Of Water - Literally the best song on the whole E.P. It reaches the epic heights of Viva La Vida and Violet Hill but also sounds heavy and weighted, it's like a song that us rockers have been waiting for coldplay to release for years now.

Rainy Day - Eh, sounds too much like U2. I love the chorus "Oh rainy day" but the verses are straight from anything U2 does these days...and what's great about Coldplay for me is that they AREN'T U2. Though the song is rapidly growing on me, it's a nice little break between the better songs IMO and even if I don't like the "different" direction I have to give Coldplay kudos for doing something different.

Prospekt's March/Poppyfields - This is becoming my second favourite song on the whole album, it could do with being a bit longer but it really is a soft and uplifting little song. Poppyfields is pretty cool too, it uses a guitar effect that I have on m guitar pedal so I like it for that :D

Lost+ - Honestly....this didn't need to be on here, one rhyme from Jay-Z really isn't inclusion worthy and this version of the song really fit better on the Lost Single. Heck the song is pretty much what you get on VLV plus one verse from Jay-Z...now if the song had changed somewhat...come to think of it, if Lost had to make it to Prospekt's March I would have prefered the Piano Version

Lovers In Japan (Osaka Sun Mix) - Same as above, why was this included? So that we could have a single version of LIJ instead of it being tacked on with Reign Of Love? I really like Lovers In Japan, it's a great track, but how is this a remix? Coldplay really could have put something better on here like say including "Death Will Never Conquer" or even "Spell A Rebel Yell" or how about the "Thin White Duke Remix" of Viva La Vida?

Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground - I've listened to the song abit but honestly it's not as memorable as the previous songs. That's not meant as a bad thing but I also blame this on the fact that it's the last track, wedged in between two tracks I feel were personally pointless to have been included on this E.P. so when I do get to Lost + I'm more than likely to shut the CD off than to let it play through or skip to this song. Maybe I'll add more to this once the song becomes engrained in my brain like "Prospekt's March" and "Glass Of Water" are.
