December 10, 200817 yr why after 7 months? THe songs just resamble on 1 0r 2 verses, and chords, plagiarism would be using more than 50% of the song. Satriani has lost a lot of respect from me, but if the remote possibility that coldplay did steal some part of the songs, then it would be them the ones who'd loose respect. But I highly doubt it, I don' t think someone would be so stupid to copy a famous and respected musician, besides they are very polite they would have asked permission in case they took inspiration from Satriani, which is even more PATHETIC, COLDPLAY BEING INFLUETENTED BY JOE SATRIANI IS PREPOSTEROUS. It would be more reasonable with radiohead or U2, but Satriani? This man has lost some respect for me

December 10, 200817 yr Regardless, he just looks silly not responding. Joe Satriani gave a very thoughtful, reasoned interview on the subject. Coldplay should do the same and not call him "Mo Batriani." That just makes them look childish. Satriani is the one that looked childish. A "dagger" in his heart? He was "hurt"? Him saying that it took him over a decade to write the song for his wife? And saying that when he heard Viva la Vida, he knew it was "the exact same song" as his own. He came off as very... whiny.

Re the case, for "subconcious copying" that could get quite philiophical - however, one thing people are overlooking is lawyers and sense of humours are usually mutually exclusive.
