When they played on the radio for the first time.Woke up at 6 am to listen to it :)

When I first heard it I was in the car, on a 2days holiday with a friend of mine and her parents. (Hating the fact that I could only download it two days later:P )

(The second time I heard it I was at another friend's house) and the third (and many, many, many) time(s after that) I was finally at home, downloading it :)

It was the day that Grand Theft Auto 4 came out too, All my mates in school were all, i can't wait too rush home to play it first, and i was like Forget that, VIOLET HILL! 3pm at my computer, lots of :O going on.

I was going College that day and was late at the bus stop so I said Fuck it im staying home today so told my brother to pick me up. And the funny thing was I couldnt get it working, the radio on the internet and missed half of it.

I first heard it the day of its release on the band website ^^ At was at home and download it from the wesbite but the song wouldn't came to my mailbox è.é so while I was waiting, I listened to it on youtube and I got *o*

my bedroom at 6:15 am right before school.

i waited many hours for the world premiere listening to the radio from the coldplaying toolbar..

i think it was 12.15 p.m. here when the sound came up..

that was amazing cause the announcers were talking at the beginning of the song and then said ´listen now´ or something like that.

the song was allready playing and got louder and louder.. i didnt really know if its coldplay or not but then i could hear it very quick :)

the sun was shining, i opened the door to my balcony, downloaded the song from their website and listened to it the whole day! :)

I didn't remember that... but I know I heard it once around 1 am at the airport while we were waiting for my sister and once in a clothes shop...

In my den glued to my headphones and chatting on Coldplaying.com...

Me and a couple of mates (who I had manged to convince that this single would be amazing) were huddled round a table in an empty classroom at school. We were listening to the first ever play of it on Radio 1 via the radio on my phone. I remember when I heard those chords on the piano and Chris singing "It was a long and dark December", at that moment I knew Coldplay were back and better than ever! It was an amazing moment.

Also, that day a mate of mine who is also a big Coldplay fan passed his driving test and we drove around all evening listening to violet hill.

It was a great day :D

I was in Malta, on holiday!

When it first came out on coldplay.com (i was waiting for it) I download it immedeately and listened to it in my room. I remember thinking OMFG COLDPLAY ARE BACK! ahhhh this songs amazing! I NEED THEM, NOW.

What an awsome moment!! My whole time spent being as a fan passed in my mind in a flash, since the beginning w/parachutes...the concert...COLDPLAY!!!

When the NME copy with the single and ASARY came out I was running like a chincken with its head cut off for more than a week calling new agents all over town because I live in italy and NME is imported and comes out later...:wacky:

I was watching MTV and they announced "Coldplay's Violet Hill" And the music video began playing and i ran to my tv and turned up the volume.

I was so excited i was jumping on my bed.

On the radio of my car during a picnic trip.

I heard it when i was in my living room, and was amazed!!! It was the best 3:42 of my life so far. From that day on to June 17, 2008, that was the only song i listened to. EVERY DAY!!!!!!

Ugh, The first time I heard it I was in the car with my mom and brother, both of which are not Coldplay fans in the least so I missed the first half just begging them to let me keep the station on and the second half telling my brother to shut up and let me listen to the darn song. Overall not the best listening experience, but when I got home that afternoon from school no one else was home and I was able to blast it from my computer over and over. Now that was what it should have been like the first time!

i heard a clip on a tv news station and i didn't even now coldplay had a new tour let alone a new album then i went and downloaded it...loved it ever since like every coldplay song...

I was watching Coldplay.com and Coldplaying.com crash and burn
