I remember sitting at my computer at 7:15a.m. waiting for the link on Coldplay.com to go up, but the website was too busy, so i had to miss my bus! I eventually got to the website and i entered my e-mail address, but that didnt work! I tried this at least 6 or 7 times, convinced I didn't enter my e-mail address in correctly or something. So i eventually had to go to school, but on the car ride there, the D.J. on the radio station said, "Alright everybody, there's a new Coldplay song floating about and we have it right here for you on D.C. 101 and I freaked out! It was incredible.

I heard it when it was first released on UK radio, at the same place I am now. (my room)

I had school during the radio broadcast, but as soon as I got home I downloaded it. Watched it in Windows Media Player and was absolutely amazed

i rember, i was on myspace when i had to go to school in a couple of mintutes

then i saw coldplay post a bullition about a new song, at first i didnt like it but now im in love with it!

I heard it when Chris & Jonny took it into Radio One for the exclusive play on there. I was in work and I kept trying to look busy in my little 'office' where the radio is so I could listen to it.

 

It was sooo cool listening to it that first time (I've gone off Violet Hill since, sorry)

At college hahahhaha I logged on myspace... and I went speechless and crazy at the same time hahahaha :nice:

I was in the car with my son on the way to his school. I had logged in online early to get a listen the day it released but the site must have crashed because I couldn't get in. I was disappointed I wouldn't be able to hear it the morning it was released. But the radios station played it. It made for a good day.

i was on my way to school, it was about 4pm. i changed the radio station and "Was a long and dark december..." i screamed out loud , my dad stopped the car near my school to listen to the song first.

 

My first thought about VH is "JONNY'S ROCK !!!"

I was in my Latin classroom, checking Coldplay.com... I couldn't listen at home because the site was too busy, so I was checking in between classes :nice:

Sat at the computer listening to Radio 1 with my headphones plugged in because the speakers were broken, making sure no-one interrupted me. I was logged on here too. That was a great day.

I had a final early that morning, the whole time I couldn't stop thinking about downloading the song and wondering what it sounded like. As soon as I finished I brought out my laptop (which I had with me specifically for this occasion) and downloaded it. I remember thinking how different it sounded not being sure if I liked it or not, but I couldn't stop listening to it. Played it about 10 times before heading to my next class, and after all those listens I decided that I loved it.

I was at my stepdad's office.. I didn't go out for lunch so I could stay and listen to it on the Jo Whiley show

I was in the car and it was the first day of radio play here. I was so excited, I cranked it up (much to my mother's displeasure!)

I woke up at like 6 am or something only to find the site had crashed, so I woke up 2 hours later and the site was working but had to download it from someone on here since it wasn't sent to my email yet....then I plugged my headphones in an started listening to my ipod from getting ready for class, until I got there, and everytime in between that day...it had like 100 plays on my itunes, lol

I was in my dorm room at 7:00 am waiting for the song to be released while my roommate slept away. I remember putting on my headphones with extreme excitement once the file downloaded, and as the song slowly got louder in the beginning I got more excited, and just had a huge smile on my face.

it was back in may or june I was in a parking lot about to get my smoothie... and it came on I wasn't much of a coldplay fan (liked a song or two) until i heard it on the radio then i thought WOW they deserve my time! :D

I had a spanish exam the morning it would be released. I logged on to the forum, beforehand to check if it had played (it hadn't). So I went to class, returned, and found it immediately. I listened to it about 15 times straight through headphones since my roommate was sleeping.

i owned all of coldplay's first three albums, but i wasnt really tracking the progress of the first one. so when it came out, i was totally surprised. i saw it on mtv. magical video.
