U have posted really nice information about the concert in Buenos Aires, thanks for doing that! :D

At the beginning I was so sad, cause I couldn't go there with the people of the fun club but, as U knew, that friday night the central and southern part of Chile suffered an horrible earthquake (3:34 a.m; chilean time). which, as I heard, was felt in a part of Mendoza and Salta, not in Buenos Aires...

So, Im glad 'cause I didn't go to the concert and I was with my family :D

Thanks for worrying about us, kisses :D

Yep..or maybe.. they took our song :P, and put in their song i don't know

But they love that, becuase when we sang Ole ole ole, they watched the crowd and smiled

Awesome! thanks for the inside info. I had heard the Ole ole in many soccer or football matches, but had no clue how this ended happening. It's a great song, I want their new album that much more now!

Okay, now I don't feel bad. I was gonna say something, maybe not quite as bluntly, but I don't think us saying something here is going to open the can of worms, plus I doubt Bruce's lawyers are trolling around this site anyway. If a few of us here after hearing the song the very first time can come up with that comparison so quickly, than likely it will be just as obvious for half the other people out there who hear it, regardless of whether they are Coldplay fans. Chris has been vocal about being a fan of Bruce, so I don't think the boys are trying to hide anything anyway.

Actually, I disagree with you as to whether they'll release it as anything official; late last year they said they would "try out" some of their anticipated LP5 songs early this year, so this very well could be something (previous posts mentioned/showed the "Spanish Rain" title as something they've been working on for awhile). Maybe not with quite so many "Ole"s, but this could actually be something they're considering for LP5. And if that is the case, then I would assume given all of their previous snafus, that everything has already been "squared away". I can't believe that they, or the gabillions of people who work with them, wouldn't have noticed it (when it takes a few non-music-professionals here just one listen to notice). So I'm assuming they did, and I'm assuming everything is peachy. Otherwise... :\

Yeahhright, and NumbersGirl, you make excellent points that are well-taken. Coldplay, and especially Chris are very intelligent. If they borrowed the tune, they had permission. If they didn't, then it's an original work. I'm aware that they have been very careful in the past to obtain permission for melodies they wanted to use, such as they did for "Talk" from Kraftwerk. They also work collaboratively with other artists to share influences, such as with Michael Stipe (REM) for The Hardest Part. Coldplay attributes the melody of Speed of Sound to Kate Bush, but I don't know what arrangement they made with her. I think they have many, many friends among other artists, who love them as much or more as their fans. The artists who have influenced them have never "grabbed" me or "touched me in a special place in the heart" as Coldplay has. Therefore, I consider all of their work to be incredibly original and unique, and touches a special place in the heart in a way that few other artists do.

From Diario Los Andes

On Friday, the Coldplay frontman awoke after 10 am and while eating breakfast, had an idea that surprised his entourage: he decided to go see "Avatar".

It was around 14:00 that he was escorted by three members of his staff team, the musician went to Puerto Madero Cinemark to see the film he had heard so much about.

According to sources, Cris said it was a pending debt from the start of the tour and had finally been settled in Argentina. Before entering the room, Martin asked for a large bucket of popcorn and a soda, although diet.

Past 17:30, the musician left the cinema in a hurry to finalize details of his presentation that night at the River stadium.
