Crap.

All I can say is goodbye and good luck and I understand you when you say that CP have to be CP and no a kind of new U2 but I still love them.:) even I was only 4 when Parachutes came out but now I see how the band was and I can say that I prefer "the old Coldplay" . But I don't really know if there's a better artist I mean all artists do music to be famous, win money, and that's it I think Coldplay does more Coldplay give Life in their music they're more than something like that f*ucking alien GAGA or keisha or any of those who do ANNOYING music. Coldplay is more than good music, Coldplay is a way of life!:D;):smug:

Excellently put.

I like how many people posted responses talking directly to the person who just said they are signed off for good.

Well hours after they posted that message, their "online" icon was green so they hung around to see people reactions.

Well I didn't know that. No one to rub it in like some smug little ardvark.

I haven't listened to Coldplay in 6 months but I wouldn't make a thread about it.

That's a bit disappointing as you were a big fan. I guess I'm sort of surprised at your indignation about lots of teenage girl fans. I mean, I'm a straight guy, but I always recognized that Coldplay would attract the interest of teenage girls. They write love songs for pete's sake!

Regardless, I see your point about the live show. But Coldplay have moved in different directions. It's surprising to me how small people's musical interests are, because if you read any review the reviewer would say nothing about Coldplay was new. They'd say it was all the same basic stuff. But on this forum, with the real fans, you see how different people consider the bands four albums. I consider them different, but I guess I'm surprised at the amount of people who see Parachutes as massively different then the Coldplay we see now.

They've evolved but they have had no, to borrow a cringe worthy comparison U2like changes. Honestly, they've just become less acoustic. And even then, they still bring acoustic sounds in.

ALSO. What I think we have to note is that Coldplay themselves have said that the new album will be MORE ACOUSTIC.

Of course, this is subject to change, but from what we know they're going to be acoustic again.

I don't expect nor want another Parachutes. Frankly, I've always thought it was the most overrated album musically. There are great songs on there, but only a few of them ever really touched me.

But yeah, I'm sorry you won't listen to Coldplay anymore. But the thing is, it happens with everyone. We all fall in and out of love with bands. Because music is so tied to who we are at certain moments in our lives. Just like certain childrens books or movies don't feel the same years later, Coldplay won't. If you loved them when you were a teen, maybe you just aren't in the same frame of mind to appreciate them anymore.

I pray this never happens to me with Coldplay. But so far their evolutions have been just my speed. And I'm eagerly anticipating whatever they put out next.

:shocked2:

If you ask me this thread is for the most part pointless.

To each his own ;)

I luff X&Y. Jonny rocks on X&Y!

As for this thread, don't think they are being a drama queen. They have been on here 5 years and has just over 200 posts. If they didn't make this thread would anyone even notice they had left?

I was thinking that too

anyways we all agree this is a pointless thread?

On top of that, nobody cares that hardcore fans don't think the fans at their concert were good either.

I don't know if you guys are still talking about that, I stopped reading after the third page. But honestly, grow up.

Good luck. I don't think you can make it official that you'll never listen to them ever again if you've loved them for so long but...whatever you think is best :P

Excellently put.

Erm, no.

Why make a thread saying how you are done with Coldplay? I mean, nobody particularly cares.

Ok, well, good for you dude, best of luck with everything in the future.

I like how people have once again been like "nobody cares our band is great we must defend them blarg!" but some haven't. Intriguing!
