so true, i cant wait for LP5. now i cant stand listening to mainstream pop

Coldplay

Concerning possible songs for the album, I'd like to point out that I don't think we've seen the end of 'Famous Old Painters'. I mean, think about it. The inspiration for the album comes from people in the 70's in New York who would spray paint graffiti everywhere. In my opinion, this will be the perfect album to find 'Famous Old Painters' as a possible track.

Just my two cents :)

Not sure how I feel about those song titles actually. I really liked how the named songs in Viva, but those seem very...old school schmaltz. i feel like they're something a 70's prog rock band would come up with.

that could be a very good thing. obviously, names don't necessarily have anything to do with how good a song is. they just seem very serious!

Hurts Like Heaven!! What a wonderful and strong name!! I can't wait for the album! I'm crazy!:awesome:

I think they're true names, we also had revelations on the previous album...

"Hurts Like Heaven is all Jonny. It only has two chords. The songs are group-y, its guitar-y. Johnny is coming out of his cocoon. We're just trying some risky things."

OMG, I wanna feel the power of Jonny Boy!!!:bomb:

And about the possible duet... Please, no Jay-z or rappers! I want only Coldplay, they don't need external interferences, it's very unnecessary!:|

I'm quite certain during the 60 minutes show that Famous Old Painters was still on the board for songs they had. Perhaps that was recorded before they released Prospekts, but if not I think the song still has a life - even if under a different title.

I do like what he has to say about Jonny coming out of a cocoon though. RISKS ARE AWESOME! And groupy is also really good - who knows what it means though. I feel like The Goldrush was a groupy song - if so I approve!

RISKS ARE PERFECTLY AWESOME! Always as possible, Chris speaks about it (the question of Jonny). I like the expression "Jonny coming out of a cocoon though"... Yeeah, I also totally approve songs with the style of The Goldrush...

Im pretty sure it was on the list of songs too! It be interesting to finally hear it, it probably has evolved a lot..

:worried:

Has anybody considered that the duet could actually wind up being with someone in the band?

WILL :drummer:

Would be wonderful! When I saw the notice I just thought in an external duet. Don't like external duets in albuns... It's boring.:|

I'm seriously worried about this new album.

These song titles are scaring me. Haters already think that we (the guys, at least) are gay or emo for listening to Coldplay...imagine what they'll say when they hear about "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall."

I can only pray I'll be proven wrong, but I'm thinking I'm not going to like this album.

I second that. It seems everyone is in favour of these song titles but I don't particularly like them. And I'm having fears that when I hear the actual music, I won't like that either.:\

Agreed.

They should make titles like Muse's titles, "Supermassive Black Hole".

Is it me or are the song titles just getting a bit out of hand... Up With The Birds?

I don't understand why everybody hate this title... On the contrary, I find it great! The imagery in it is really poetic and melancholic! <3

...uhhh 'ladder to the sun' ?!!

I will guote Bo Diddley 'you can't judge a book by looking at its cover'...

Agreed.

 Only Matt Bellamy can get away with naming stuff like that...

And only Chris can get away with naming things 'Hurts like Heaven' ect.

But I'm a little weirded out by it.... They sound overtly emotional, I prefer a bit of subtlety. Though I'm not going to prejudge any of the tracks based on their title.

I really like the Heaven one, but the teardrop... But it is the album closer, and I have to say that I think it is a good title for an end :)

yes, because people who judge your sexuality based on the type of music you listen to are obviously people whose opinions you should care about

i like the titles

Firstly, I love these song titles very much!

Secondly, what means "groupy"? I'm from Germany and can't find this wird at leo.org :D

Thirdly: Wuuuuuuhhhhrrrrrrhhhhhhhh.... CAN'T WAIT!

I hate those titles. I hope Chris was kidding :p
