You can't just call them the best band in the world......it's like you're trying to invalidate everything you just said.......

Lots of us are saying that we like some of the songs, of course we're giving them credit. It's not like we'll hate everything they do, some of us are still big coldplay fans, it just happens that we actually have opinions and don't accept blindly everything that coldplay does.

sampling is nothing new.

take hip hop and electronica. It is built on samples. When done properly I'm all for it.

I like how some fanatics see some of us horrible, sinful WoM users say something positive about the new songs, and all of a sudden they're like "HA! TOLD YA SO! COLDPLAY CAN DO NO WRONG! I'M SURE YOU'LL LOVE EVERY TEARDROP EVENTUALLY!" All I can say when I see that is "Whoa whoa whoa, slow down a bit." True, nothing is as bad as ETIAW. That's not exactly setting your standards very high. Truth be told, I think "Hurts Like Heaven" sounds generic as hell. The other 3 aren't bad at all, but "Us Against the World" is the only one of those I think is truly stellar. So yes, we're less negative about these. But that still doesn't mean we're suddenly going to start kissing Coldplay's ass.

 

I also like how Brian Eno was being trashed as a murderer yesterday, and today he's suddenly being treated like a godly genius because we get a few more songs that are either pretty respectable or, at worst, less sucky than ETIAW. Bottom line is that Eno doesn't have total control over what the boys do or anything. The band obviously has a ton of input on their material, so the "Eno effect" is pretty exaggerated.

Most people don't even know who Eno is I'm guessing.
