June 27, 201114 yr This song is the next Life in Technicolor ii I think it's much better then LIT II. :wideeyed:
June 27, 201114 yr I'm going to kill them if they make Chris's voice electronic like they did in the 3 new songs. If they keep it like it is in the live version, I'm going to love this song.
June 27, 201114 yr Why always so sceptical? If the boys think this electronic voice works better on the song?! You had never heard Charlie Brown with such a voice but you know that you'll hate it with some effects at this point?! Ok, good, your opinion, but that seems ridicolous! I'm really sure that there will be some effects and I'm curious to hear a live version of the song. Wait and see, than consider it as good or bad. Thats my way.
June 27, 201114 yr ridiculous! Fixed it for you. This is a good dictionary website: http://www.dict.cc/ :nice:
June 28, 201114 yr Fixed it for you. This is a good dictionary website: http://www.dict.cc/ :nice: Thank you very much, correct: ridiculous. Better?
July 5, 201114 yr I'm going to kill them if they make Chris's voice electronic like they did in the 3 new songs. If they keep it like it is in the live version, I'm going to love this song. Um... They didn't make Chris' voice electronic for ETIAW and Moving to Mars. In ETIAW, I don't hear any difference from his usual singing voice. In Moving to Mars, the beginning is quite deep, but it's very close to his speaking voice, and after that he has his usual voice with Will as backup singer. In Charlie Brown, on the other hand, what you hear during the intro (that squeaky voice) is Chris's voice with a "slight" pitch modification (and that's an understatement). What I'm saying is that you should still give the new songs a second chance, despite the editing. I, for example, loathe speeded up vocals but I still think Charlie Brown is an awesome and catchy song. It just spent almost as long a time at the mixers' as photo models spend in Photoshop ;).
July 6, 201114 yr Good post vrdagam.....I really resent people who call the vocal effect in MM/ETIAW autotune. ETIAW sounds fairly normal, actually...I think there are just a few places where Will's backup vocals + perhaps a layer of Chris's voice (or Chris's voice being echoed in some way) are offputting at first. This song is the next Life in Technicolor ii The chord progression is actually very similar; if you transposed it down a half step the first part would sound a lot like LIT. Try singing LIT's words over the main riff. ;) Nah but this song definitely gives me a similar vibe of youthfulness, I love it.
August 5, 201114 yr I've just listened to it again and I could hear a tack piano sound along with jonny's guitar on the riff, am I the only one who took so long to realise that?
August 8, 201114 yr I know this isn't the right place to talk about the song, but I wanted to share the better version of Princess of China that I have attempted to make. I want to get it around to a lot more of you coldplayers. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68h3fl5rctI]Coldplay - Princess of China {Better Quality} - YouTube[/ame]
August 10, 201114 yr I  charlie brown! Ah! After hearing it live in person, it made me love it so much more! It was so fun jumping to it :D
August 26, 201114 yr So it may just be me, but I've always thought that etiaw's beginning is actually continuation from the song before it. it seems that they altered the single so it doesn't appear that way. so while listening to charlie brown live @ lollapalooza, i noticed the ending to it sounded really similar to how they began etiaw @ lollapalooza. so maybe charlie brown is the prelude to the finale that is etiaw? comments?
August 26, 201114 yr coldplay have to made the jumping thing a signature of this song! chris has to lead the jumping every time this song's played live! JUMP JUMP JUMP JUMP! *johnny's guitar riff*
