I want more artistic,abstract and rock like Radiohead's In Rainbows or The King of Limbs

I disagree that they should make something by themselves.

 

I think Coldplay's best work is when they've been pushed. If you take any fantastic Coldplay song; Politik, Clocks, Violet Hill, Death and all His Friends, Hurts Like Heaven... they're all made with the pressure to do something new and untried. Most of that pressure in the studio comes from a producer.

It would be hard, but I'd be willing to wait 5 years or so to hear the results of Chris studying complex music like that. He could only get better as a player/writer.

I wouldn't want him to study, neither think he will, I just love the fact he can write such beautiful songs without knowing how to read music

Ok Computer was awesome. Truly a masterpiece.

 

Kid A + Amnesiac were ok. The band was experimenting, and the electronic twist was unusual at the time, so it all kind of paid off, in my opinion.

 

After that it all went downhill for me... I can't listen to a single song from TkoL or In Rainbows. They are soooo boring....

Same thing happened with Portishead... 3 is mediocre and boring (except for Machine Gun), no matter what those high brow critics say...

 

Kid A, I believe, to be the greatest album of all time.

 

I think your problem here is that you don't like quiet/slow songs.

A couple of the guys have implied that they have an idea of what they want for LP6, so you probably don't have to worry about that.:)

I think it was in response to someone asking about their tour. I inferred he said that they can't tour forever and want to make a record. Could be wrong, but it looks promising.:D
