Harondor
But what is that thing they haven't done yet? There are thousands of ideas and directions. I'm sure they'll surprise us again :) But it's a bit too early, let's enjoy this MX era (MX tour, next singles, b sides or EP)

I'm sure they'll surprise us again :) But it's a bit too early, let's enjoy this MX era (MX tour, next singles, b sides or EP) I know it's really to early but I'm already a little tired of this era:confused: maybe it's because they did SO many shows online. I watched them all and the same songs over and over again. I really hope the setlist is going to change soon! But and EP won't be bad either:D
thetelephoneline
I think we get a EP soon. Because of the fact that it's very quiet now around CP, No R#42's and things. The very early sale in the CP shop is also strange...

TraceOddity
WAY too early, yes. But still fun to speculate. Especially if this isn't your favorite era. I don't remember which interview around the MX release that Chris half commented about the next one being quieter.

I also remember an interview where Will said an EP was very possible, or something like that. I think it was around December.
TraceOddity
I'm pretty sure it was around Oct. 15th, but don't quote me on that.

I don't remember which interview around the MX release that Chris half commented about the next one being quieter. I know for certain he said back in early 2010 or 2009 that the next album would be cause for a smaller occasion than Viva. But we all know that small sounding album didn't happen and they pretty much did a 180 degree turn! I hope it's a much smaller occasion for the next album. I like Paradise and all that, but for god's sake don't continue that trend. Coldplay's magic lies in their timeless sound to songs. Whether it's Yellow, Clocks, Violet Hill or Viva La Vida they will always sound as though they were recorded yesterday. The problem with Paradise and some other songs of MX is that I fear they won't be timeless and when you hear them back in 10 years time you'll comfortably point out that they were from the early 2010s what with all the dated r'n'b/synths involved. THIS is what I've been trying to say about Paradise and Every Teardrop since I heard them. Well spoken!:D Chris is so damned ambitious, and that's a good thing, since it helped push the band to where they are now. But Not Everything has to be Epic. A non-Epic Coldplay album in the midst of all this highly produced music would be a breath of fresh air for me. :)

nvdmm
I don't want them to release anything for another 3 to 4 years and then come up with a masterpiece. maybe it'll turn out as good as AROBTTH although I strongly doubt anything will ever be as good! Cheese Nip 2
I think MX will be remembered actually, if only cause it's so different from other stuff. I think the albums that make the biggest impact on future artists are the ones that break boundaries. That's the same reason I think Viva will be so important later on. MX broke a lot of boundaries IMO. That may be one of the reasons it's so controversial.

I want an album which will be as successful as Viva and AROBTTH. MX is good, but only good.

I don't think it's their best album, but I think it's the Coldplay album that will most influence artists from now on. I really hope on the next album we get some of MX in it. Remember when Will said in an interview that they need to demand the best from their selves and continue to invent new stuffs and sounds. Chris also said that people had already made up their mind of what Coldplay's musical style is so they tried something different this time. That's why they chose a title that has no meaning at all in the first place. That's something fresh
