U.F.O

Featured Replies

Coldplay has been subtly hyping UFO a LOT for the past few months. It's even on the website, in the MX newspaper thing. I dunno about you guys, but I'm sure it's going to be an awesome song! Can't wait to hear the album!!!

In a UFO to Andromeda an far away, traveling the space searching the new earth···

i like this form of lyrics, whit a electric guitar and heavy drums like politik

U.F.O? The name of the song is just depressing...

Don't like it too but it will be hopefully a great song, maybe another quiter one to convince some very sceptical people here?

I'd venture a guess that UFO contains the luminous lyrics. "Speeding ghost" or "golden arrow", it is what it is and I'm calling it now. :)

:wideeyed:

If it has the 'luminous' lyrics then I love it already. I imagine it to be a very dark song if that's the case, with Chris singing in a low register a la 'Yes' :wacky:

UFO is going to be the best song on the album and the 4th single.

Mark my words

It will either be a short instrumental interlude or a little diddy like Parachutes (the song) was.

09 UFO

"That’s the acoustic… that was the first song written for the album actually and the chord sequence in it pops up a few times. And that’s a kind of prayer “times” kind of song. There’s a lot of feeling lost on the album but also being found as well and that’s very much a bit of both."

This makes me very happy

I'm very happy about it being an acoustic song, it needs the quieter moments to contrast to the loud songs we've been hearing.

Looking forward to this one; shame it's only just over two minutes long though.

I'm like 99% sure UFO will have the luminous lyrics, they just fit in after Major Minus.

just noticed that U.F.O. (if that allmusic article is true) has the same lenght of Don't Panic!

I noticed this as well! I believe that UFO will have very basic lyrics that revolve around the whole alienation topic and be quite a simple song.

Chris said it is the "acoustic one" so i'm imagining something like a more eerie Kingdom Come or perhaps even like UATW.

(i really hope it has I <3 UFO somewhere in the song) :D

Some thought inside me has been eating me away for a while with the I <3 UFO thing. I think it might be a play on words of "I love you" hand-in-hand with "I love UFO" or something cheesy like that, UFO with a connotation of "you" being some love interest from afar. Kind of like URA Fever by The Kills, something like that.

And in terms of the song, whenever I think of short acoustic track for some reason I Bloom Blaum comes to mind over Don't Panic. Sure it has that "we live in a beautiful world" thing going on and that kind of hints with the spacial theme, but UFO reminds me more of I Bloom Blaum because it's that song about being lost, it might have some kind of ominous feel to it.

It's been mentioned, but Chris mentioned UFO is going to be an acoustic, "prayer time" song. I imagine it to be a mix between A Message and Til Kingdom Come.

I actually thought of I Bloom Blaum, too.

I cant wait for this one! The fact it is only two minutes makes me so curious.

Just because it is 2 minutes doesn't mean it wont be a powerful moving song. Expecially since its ment to be very pery and preachy, it might be something special and magical.

life in technicolor was only 2:30 and it was a powerful way to kick off the album so i think this song will be epic cant wait

I quite enjoy Life in Technocolor, it is one of my favourite songs from its début album.
