Mylo Xyloto: Will you have a listening party?

Featured Replies

When Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends came out in 2008, my friend Jonathan (who is just as big a Coldplay fan as I am and was with me when we went to what was our first Coldplay concert) came over to my house that night and we listened to it for the first time. It was pretty much an amazing experience... and I expect more of the same in October. Even though I live over an hour away from him now, you'd better believe he'll still be up here when Mylo Xyloto comes out next month. My girlfriend will probably be over for all the fun and excitement, too. So I'm wondering... will any of you guys do this? Hopefully you all have some friends that like Coldplay to share this with. It is quite the experience... I'll probably record us on video or something.

Ill definitely enjoy some beer andpizza while listening for the first time with my wife! :-D

I'll have a listening party!

by myself :( None of my friends like Coldplay!

I only have one friend who likes Coldplay, but he is no where as big a fan as I am.

So.

I am joining the alone party.

VLVODAAHF listening party on Coldplaying was :awesome:

I remember i could listen the album in stream on coldplay's myspace thanks to i was still in Portugal -in Spain it wasn't allowed :pirate: - i remember those days.

So we'll have a CPing listening party this time aswell?

Naw, no listening party. I have had one with my friend when MTM came out, and after the song has finished she cracked up saying 'That was so weird' while for me the song was such a relief after hearing EtIAW and initial LP5 era's disappointment. I like thinking about the song for some time after I hear it and not having to explain myself to someone else how was it. There.

My 700th post. Hooray!

Probably listening party on my own, which is not nearly as bad as it sounds. Sometimes the best sonic journeys are those taken by yourself :) it's gonna be awesome regardless!

I'll be at work at the moment of release, wanting to be at home, and when I arrive, I'll listen by myself. My life sucks.

Hahahahha :laugh3:

I'll listen alone, because when I can I want to hear new Coldplay studio material with earphones, lying in bed, eyes closed. That's how I discovered Viva (:awesome:), that's how I discovered ETIAW (:awesome::awesome:) and that's how I want to "discover" Mylo Xyloto. Plus, I wouldn't like to comment it with other people, I want to be "in" the music!

And I just have 1 friend that really likes Coldplay, but he's not the biggest fan ever, you know.

I will hear it alone - definitely. Don't want to talk to anyone. If there is someone besides me I would explain him after every song what is beautiful and what is bad...

I just want to hear it and think about it and I want to cry alone (if I have to cry while hearing Up in Flames... :P)

My friends will come to me and we'll be awake all night and we will hear the album million times :D

I'll put the CD in the stereo at home and everyone will have to listen, with pleasure, so does that count?

I have quite some friends who like Coldplay but I bet no one knows about MX coming up.

probably alone because I need quiet. and nobody will disturb me.

Did you actually ever cry while listening Coldplay stuff? I have to admit I never did... not even close!

I won't be having a listening party, quite the opposite actually.

I'll be locking myself in my room from the moment I get home from HMV or wherever I get it, putting it in the stereo and playing it full blast while I lie back on my bed :P

you should add a poll with the options:

-listening alone

-listening with others

just a thought :nice:

edit: nice :-D

i ll definitely be alone during my first listen of MX - nobody should destroy me then :)

first, I'll listen it alone and again and again. then i will listen it my friend, she loves coldplay but not as much as me.

and I won't read comments about new album in cping.com for 1 month or more.

When I buy it, I'm going to play it in the truck on the way home. If someone is with me at the time, they'll just have to deal with it. :D

Oh I so hope that MX is first on the track. What better sound could you possibly want? :P

I really want to have a listening party, with more than just listening to the album but maybe snacks, Coldplay wardrobe, etc. But it's incredibly hard to get friends to do that since not many of my friends are crazy Coldplay fans. I can get a few who like the band enough to listen to the album, but that's pretty much it. Sadface.
