When you get mad at one of your family members because you had to pause the best part of Politik. I mean come on guys, Politik is more than just a song, it's something else words can't describe. And when you cut my concentration from listening to it, it's like falling into a bathtub, trying to wake up from a dream(hint hint).

Listening to GPASUYF...This video is just pure bliss for me.

Edit: Now "The Scientist", feeling like I can drift away into outer space.

Now "Clocks". It's putting me in a trance, So hypnotic.

Now "Daylight". Such a gritty song to listen at night. What a contradiction lol. Great song.

"Green Eyes" Where have you been?! :dazzled:

Oh "Warning Sign" I miss you so...After this It's time for bed. :P

I lied, I end the night after listening to the whole album.

"Amsterdam" You are like fine wine, you get better with each passing day. You truly came along and cut me loose....

We should have a worldwide listening party for this, like everyone listens to Rush of blood at the same time! How 'bout 10am UTC on August 26? It could be hosted by burns! And doesn't vBulletin have a shoutbox feature for realtime posting?

10 years old? Has it really come to this?!

This is an incredible album. Judging by the comments on this thread it is clearly a very emotional and personal album for all of us. Without this album Coldplay would have passed under the bridge without a hint of it being there not just for me but probably millions others as well. An album that was so mature beyond their very young years. You'd be forgiven for thinking that Mylo Xyloto came in their early twenties and this came in their mid 30s. I'm not saying Mylo Xyloto is "immature" or anything, not in the slightest. It's just a whole lot more pop orientated and a whole lot less personal. Where A Rush Of Blood catered to the individual listener, MX served the needs to a 60,000 packed out arena/football stadium. Both records do their jobs exceptionally well but because the album experience is on the whole just you and the music, A Rush of Blood To The Head will always come out tops. It came at a time when Coldplay were instantly recognisable as a British band, before they became the international mega band which Viva La Vida and MX turned them into.

you summed it up perfectly sir great post

We should try to get something really big together for the forum. I don't really know what though. I like the idea of listening to all A Rush Of Blood To The Head era songs though.:)

yessssssss

I love the idea of a listening party or something along that line. I'd be up for that.

Love this album. I was in high school when it came out, and I remember hearing "In My Place", "Clocks", and "The Scientist" all the time on the radio. I'd liked "Yellow" and "Trouble" from the first album, but when I heard those three songs from their second, that's when I started to sit up and take more notice of these guys. It would take a few more years before I became a "proper" fan, so to speak, but those songs definitely made me think, "Okay, yeah, I like these guys a lot."

"The Scientist" remains my favorite Coldplay song to this day. It's just so beautiful and I love the lyrics-I remember being on a teen message board for a time and the lyric I quote in my signature here I also quoted in my signature on that board. I remember really liking the video when it was on TV, too. "In My Place" is another all-time favorite. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Jonny's guitar in particular makes that song. It feels so peaceful and calming.

And I'll never tire of "Clocks". That's the one I heard the most on the radio, but even at the height of its radio airplay I was always happy to hear it. I'm a real sucker for piano-heavy songs, and "Clocks" certainly fits that bill for me. I love how driving the music is, how I can actually picture a clock ticking and winding down as the song plays.

Hell, the whole first half of that album is no slouch musically in particular. "Politik" is a fantastic, dramatic opener, and it just gets better from there. And on the other end, "Amsterdam" is so haunting and eerie and gorgeous and a perfect way to close out the album altogether.

I can't believe it's been 10 years already since this album came out. Wow. I'm glad this album was as successful as it was and brought them the attention they deserve. And it's been really fun to see them progress from there on out.

Everything that I was going to say about this album has been said in this quote on behalf of onewordepic.

This is without a doubt the best Coldplay Album out there, so personal, so emotional, so downright heartbreaking. This album haunts you for years, 10 years isnt enough to get this album out of my head.

Ten years already.

I remember I was on holiday in France, and bought the album there on the day of release. I couldn't wait, having been in the field watching their life-changing Glastonbury Pyramid Stage performance two months earlier. I put the record on and it just struck a chord - it will always hold a special place for me.

Thanks to Coldplay
