October 15, 201213 yr Can someone remind me of how to do some stuff (I think I use windows 7)... 1) do I copy the files into a folder and then change the properties? 2) How do I get rid of the album covers?

October 15, 201213 yr Whoever got me, I really realllllyyy like ambient musik, chill-step, shoegaze and the like :wacky: But I'm happy with any other genres as well, if you got cool metal/hip-hop/electro songs, put them in there as well, I might like them!

October 22, 201213 yr The person I am making the mixtape for is one lucky bastard, lemme tell you, they're getting one hell of a mixtape :loveshower: Hey I feel the same and I have sent it like a week ago. I couldn't have a better partner for that.
October 23, 201213 yr Because of my indecisiveness, and having no flippin' clue what my partner would like, I crammed quite a lot of different genres into my mixtape. Listening to the mixtapes in the last exchange, this was not really the norm, many people kept to one or perhaps two different 'moods'. Time is running out, what do you think people? Does this make it unique, a kaleidoscope of different genres and cultures, or a train wreck that is hard to keep up with, especially when a mixtape is only supposed to be about an hour long?
October 23, 201213 yr When I did my first exchange, I had no idea what to do. Therefore, I simply took the "mix" in "mixtape" quite literally and put a bunch of stuff together. I had folk, pop, metal, all sorts of stuff. I even had a "Weird Al" Yankovic song on it. As far as order, I had even less of a clue of how to do that, so I put the songs in alphabetical order by artist. I thought it would be a mess, but my partner was actually quite receptive and had several good things to say about it, making it a success, anyway. Don't sweat it, Dee. Do what you think is best. :nice:
October 23, 201213 yr ↑ Violet, I remember you were the first one to briefly intro me that we have mixtape exchanges when I was just new to this forum. and so glad I joined it! This is only my second time making a mixtape.. I was recently re-listening to the mixtape I made for my first exchange… It’s only been a year, but my music taste seemed to change a lot and broadened ever since I joined Coldplaying and the mixtape exchange.. exciting!
October 23, 201213 yr See, that's the beauty of these exchanges. You get introduced to things that you wouldn't know otherwise. My taste has broadened so much since I joined the forum. I credit it to the World of Music, and the mixtape exchanges are a huge part of that. It's my favorite event of the entirety of CPing-more than the CPing Awards, more than the 12 months of Coldplay (which I did last year), more than the annual "Albums of the Year" poll. Stephanie, I'm so glad you decided to do this again. :nice:

You might have sort of been involved with mixtapes before I don't know, It's my first time with this. Since you have simply no idea what your partner would like and I don't know if she/he is a mixed bag like me. Apart from all this, looking at whatever people have suggested so far what you can do the best (and the least) is to make something which you think they might not have heard before.. putting different genres and songs that sound different (to you), have sort of ability to crave different moods (as you mentioned yourself) from the oldest to new stuffs. It makes me feel comfortable that most of the people on here look appreciative with "Put whatever you want". So just relax and put some songs that YOU like, you are gonna be okay.
