LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"

Seems the Indian influences are going to play a big part, larger than I imagined. Seems it'll be a motif running through the whole album rather than just a couple of songs. It'll be interesting to hear to say the least. Hope they can pull it off and give an accurate representation of Indian culture rather than stereotypes. Cultural appropriation and all that.

Yeah we don't need another PoC

On the Brazil show - Am I missing something here? There hasn't been any shows confirmed at all. Seems like its just the rumour that's not happening?

Exactly. Classic move where the person makes up a rumour, knows it's about to be debunked, so they make up another story to make it seem like the rumour fell through. Whereas it was likely made up to begin with.

example: Coldplay are set to add dinosaurs as part of their tour after a 'jurassic park' style breakthrough by Jonny and Guy.

Oh, turns out the band has run out of money after donating a bunch to Global Citizen, and it isn't happening anymore, oh noes.

Even if they are still working on the album, I don't think they are overcooking things. It's highly possible that their experience in India yielded a number of ideas to work on that can be incorporated/infused on the album. Hoping it's another "Clocks-experience". We'll see...

@Saket - will wait for your story man.

COLDPLAY IS COMING

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"

It seems the album will be heavily influenced by Indian culture. [emoji7] so excited and anxious! This album's going to kick ass!

So could this Friday be a possible release date for the new video/single

and can this statement from coldplayzone.it be true "‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ is expected to be the first single from the same titled seventh record"?

This friday? Really? I hope. Knowing coldplay, in every album they have a song with the same title as the album. Lol. Most likely the song called a head full of dreams.

Next Friday would have a better possibility of a single in my opinion

AHFOD has to be better than Ghost Stories surely? When GS was released I was pretty sure it was better than MX but then with the benefit of time I've realised that it became very stale very quickly. Not helped by the pretty awful lyrics (Coldplay could get away with a dodgy lyric up until that album I felt - Another's Arms I'm looking at you) but also the sparse production. Listening back, there's very little to get your teeth stuck into bar the brilliant Midnight and the beautiful Fly On which is vintage Coldplay in my opinion. Always In My Head is good as well but the rest? B side material at best.

All Your Friends and Ghost Story would have made the album better. I think the former is especially wonderful and reconnects with the band's dark yet sensitive side from A Rush Of Blood To The Head better than any song after 2002 - so the idea that they've lost that ability they displayed better than any other popular band is wrong in my opinion. But I think the only way they can get in touch with that side is if the song is an ode to a particular event, in that case the First World War. These sort of sensitive songs yearning for someone's love etc no longer cut the mustard and was shown with that pretty mushy last album of theirs.

I just thought of this, what if on AHFOD, we could hear a song that is very drum heavy possibly the first single? Johnny was all over Hurts Like Heaven, Guy was all over Magic, and this time it could be Will's turn. [emoji2][emoji106]

Woow I miss the drums... those speedy cynbals like in square one or the style of daylight

But if the Indian motif is running through the whole album, how does Amazing Day fit in it. Does anyone hear Indian influences in it? Not me personally..

ANY day is a possible release day.

ANY day is a possible release day.

Today, tomorrow...maybe the next year... Ok maybe not [emoji27]

That's why I hope amazing day won't be on the album.

Do we already know that the whole album will be Indian themed? If so, I hope it won't be of a too watered-down westernised kind like the supposed "Chinese" influence in PoC.

Just found this on twitter:

Take a look at @phannyCor's Tweet:

I dunno what to think, but then again, my mind is just shouting out RUMOUR and WHERE'S THE EVIDENCE?
