I don't think they would've played Amazing day if they weren't ready to show off the album. The single shouldn't be that far off, probably within two weeks we'll have heard it.

Too far. I guess not cos, When the GS came out, 1 month later in june, it already existed a rumour that cold was working on a new album almost along with GS and that the GS was something to experiment/trying new stuff and that the new one will be more traditional coldplay and that would be bigger tours and etc. It was someone from inside and part of me believed that time, I had my reasons. Then december chris told about ahfd, that means that the rumour was true, so they were indeed working in ahfod like june of 2014 or before that.. who knows. I GUESS THAT THE BONUS SONGS LIKE GHOST STORY IS THE REFLECT OF THAT. Thats why the bonus sounded more like oldplay than the tradional tracks from the album. Like the guy said "a more traditional record"

 

The new album won't be alt rock like ghost story, it's going to be another pop album. I believe AHFOD will be an experimental pop album like Viva La Vida is.

They pretty much confirmed the title when they announced the (Almighty) Timeline.

Rik has confirmed it on his Twitter account, he still calls it AHFOD whenever he's refering to the new album so the title is pretty much confirmed...

While I guess it could be true that the band change their minds about things, in this case, it doesn't appear so.

 

Along with what others have posted, during the interview at iHeart when the interviewer referred to LP7 as A Head Full of Dreams, neither Chris nor Jonny corrected him.

In fact it was Chris who confirmed it. "What we're working on, is something what we're building to for a while. We had this idea for an album called "A Head Full of Dreams" a long time ago and we knew, it will take us a while to get there"

The reason they don't tease us with the album is because they're not finished with it yet.

Agree that Coldplay is statistically speaking likely to have a delay once again :D

 

I don't quite agree that AROBTTH has less musical motifs hidden or that its structures are less worthy than those of MX. MX might have slightly more variety in song structure because ever since Viva, Coldplay has experimented with unusual song structures, but that's all. I wouldn't say it varies more in mood; MX presents different nuances of optimism while AROBTTH does the same for desperation and urgency.

I think AROBTTH songs have a very rich sound, neat layering (every time I put them on different speakers I discover a new line, isn't that amazing ? MX on the other hand is often a "wall of sound")

 

I know right! It's crazy how AROBTTH is layered in that sort of way, how diffferent speakers output the audio in different ways really makes you discover different lines.... how did they do that! :D That's one thing I love about that album, out of quite a lot:P

I do believe that is going to be something like viva the style. But amazing day sound a little like parachutes and Mx and gs. I don't know its just sound more like something before viva. But whatever, still believe that it will be similar than viva

Hopefully you're talking about the song Ghost Story and not the album. The album is anything but alt rock.

 

If this is in fact an experimental pop album than I'm sure lots of people will like it as with Viva, that seems to be a very loved album around here. :D

That's why maybe you should stop speculating times for "when we might hear something" so soon, so sooner than is possible.

 

Here, I have a tip: how about you stop speculating early times and just relax and be patient. It'll come eventually. If you don't have expectations you won't be disappointed, other's won't be disappointed, you don't get stressed in the days leading to the "big day", and it's a very pleasent surprise when it does come. Just some thoughts and tips. Nothing to take as an insult here. :)

I hope amazing day won't be on lp7 even though it probably will be. I think amazing day will feel out of place like ASFOS was.

Yes, the song, not the album. The album is synthpop.

If the band had a single ready for a music video a month ago, one would think that the video would be ready to go by now. I don't think it takes an entire month to edit everything. A few weeks? Sure, but not a month... there are two possible explanations for this:

 

1. the band scrapped the video, which wouldn't be surprising

2. the band is going to drop the single and video at the same time in the near future

 

Most likely they will release the single and video at the same time.
