I was browsing around, and noticed that a lot of people put quotes of certain coldplay songs. So i thought of this. Just pick your favorite line from any coldplay song, and put it here. Don't worry if you repeat what someone else had, that's the purpose of a chorus. lol, it's stupid i know.:P Here, i'll start. "On a platform i'm gonna stand and say, that i'm nothing on my own...

So I was thinking about Chris's voice and how amazing it is. How as a musician his is able to write out meaningful lyrics and then carry out the meaning even further by singing it with an incredible amount of substance and heart. So I thought that I might create a thread where you guys can talk about which songs and parts of songs you like his voice in!! :D Like for instance me, I love the part in Swallowed in the Sea when he talks about loving all you see and his voice gets more into it. And the part in Gravity where he says "can you hear my heart beatin?" He is just so into it...I totally could feel the emotion!! :D

Many of us here at Coldplaying will know the lovely EnglishSilk (Karen). Her incredible sense of humour and love for Coldplay (and a certain Mr Martin in particular!) light up the board when she posts :sunny: Some of us will have seen her crack jokes about her illness, as she went about the all-important business of planning to get to gigs, (and how to get into Chris's hotel room!) Many people will also have seen her 'butterfly baby crib mobile project', where she requested a butterfly from every gig to make her newest grandchild a mobile. She has been incredibly touched by everyone's kindness with her project, although the loveliness of it was bound to grab a…

Sorry I've been gone so long. I never really got into X+Y very much so I didn't do much updating of my site or following of the tour all that much. However on first listen of the new album and the Brixton bootleg it has awkened the Coldplay gene and I've been working on it all weekend. While there's not much yet on the main site http://thescientist1.tripod.com/ I have expanded the detailed discography to its own blog http://coldplaylive.blogspot.com/. I've finished 2005 (since i missed out on it) and will get 2006-2007 likely done this next week. Hope you get a chance to check it out and I'll be pouring through the messageboard to provide links to each show's r…

Theres an interview on apple.com with Markus Dravs, it talks about what went into producing Viva La Vida and why he liked using Logic software so much (which happens to be my favorite program!). ------------------------------------ Music producer Markus Dravs has worked with many notable musical artists on several significant albums, among them: Arcade Fire’s Neon Bible; Brian Eno’s Nerve Net; and Bjork’s Homogenic. Recently he worked with Coldplay on their highly anticipated album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008). Coldplay is one of the world’s most popular rock bands. Since coming together in 1998, they’ve sold 35 million albums. Their sec…

Coldplay, Weezer, M.I.A. Sell LPs in New Media Format The world's four biggest music corporations-- Universal, Warner, EMI, and Sony BMG (soon to be Sony Music Entertainment Inc.)-- have teamed with MP3 player and memory card manufacturer SanDisk to create a new music media format called slotMusic. Here's how slotMusic works: These memory cards-- which come pre-loaded with albums in DRM-free MP3 format along with liner notes, album art, videos, and other content-- plug right into phones, portable media devices, computers, and even a few car stereos (with aims at more). Each card sells for about the price of a CD and also comes with a USB adapter to ensure the easy t…

Hello to Coldplay! I hope that you read this because on 10/26/08 at the Izod my new husband Neil and I (Bonnie) will be celebrating 2 months marriage. Our wedding song is "Green Eyes". We have been friends for 22 years (I was married for 25 years before to a man who was not faithful) and finally after leaving a really bad situation, I got to marry the love of my life. We both have green eyes and the words of the song really say it all for us. I hope that Chris Martin sees this and somehow we could share our love story as it is a really amazing and wonderful one. My husband was a confirmed bachelor until my green eyes swept his green eyes off their feet. No when he …

OASIS finally kicked off their UK tour last night. The original date – at Cornwall’s Eden Project – was cancelled after NOEL GALLAGHER was knocked over by a crazed fan while playing in Toronto last month. But just like his ribs after the attack, the rescheduled gig at Liverpool’s Echo Arena was cracking. As last night’s show began, Oasis were on track to shatter COLDPLAY’s album sales record this weekend after Dig Out Your Soul shifted 90,000 copies on its first day on Monday. CHRIS MARTIN’s gang hold the biggest first week tally of the year with their Viva La Vida collection selling 302,000 on its release in June. But the Manc Lords’ latest effo…

Despite their successful musical trajectory and chart-topping albums, Starsailor have always shied away from the glamour of the music industry. So it's not odd then that when I speak to the band's vocalist, James Walsh, there are cooing sounds in the background coming from his 3-month-old son. The English rock band are touring South Africa as part of an exchange with the UK, known as the Powerzone Unplugged Festival. "I'm very excited. South Africa is one of the few territories that we've not had the chance to visit yet. Anyone that's ever been there speaks very highly of the crowds out there and the beautiful weather." The band will play alongside The Parlot…

Hey there. I’m delurking because I’m in a reflective mood and I thought I’d pop this question to any who are interested in responding. My name’s Dee, btw and I’ve been reading this forum with enthusiasm for about 2 years now. Love you guys and all the great chatter. :) Ok, here’s my question: Do you think Coldplay has the staying power of the classic rock/pop bands…i.e. The Beatles, The Stones, Floyd, etc. and if so ( ahem, I’m pretty sure that would be a yes :P ), then what song(s) do you feel thus far would be their big signature song(s)? What song(s) would you think you would hear in 25 years and say fondly, oh yeah, I remember when….. As you ca…
