A mouthful of a title inspired by a surrealist Mexican painter; bold cover artwork depicting the spirit of revolution; the recruitment of Brian Eno - esteemed stadium band fixer and Rock's premier out-of-the-box thinker - on knob-dwindling duties; and much talk about new directions, artistic insurrection and experimental makeover. All the signs are there. Have Coldplay finally thrown commercial caution to the wind, ditched their increasingly bland stadium-sized mid-tempo rock, and opted to make a really bold and baffling artistic statement as the world waits with baited breath. Well not exactly. Akin to the album's artwork, Chris Martin and Co have taken their usual ca…

As everyone knows, Coldplay's life changing new album, Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, arrives in stores next week. And, as you may have heard, it will shoot directly to the top of the charts, sell more copies than any CD ever, and save the band's once-troubled record label from imminent bankruptcy. Then, naturally, a flying unicorn will descend from heaven and Chris Martin will ride it around the world, delivering presents to all the children who believe in magic. That was the plan, we guess. But then, last week, the album leaked, and yesterday, Coldplay's record-label president got shit-canned and the band announced the postponement of its world tour citing "…

Well, at least I think that I did. Does anyone know if he's in Edinburgh at the moment? Seems a bit crazy I know but it really did look like him. He was chatting to a couple of girls who seemed excited to be talking to him but seemed as if they didn't know him. So could it have been him or am I going mad?

Okay so, I've been browsing the coldplaying forums since 2003 but i never made an account till 2007, so I thought it would be nice to share this story with you all, and this happened TODAY. So, just today I decided i would start getting into the AROBTTH songs, like amsterdam and warning sign (I'm starting to LOVE them not, i used to hate them) I would listen to warning sign non-stop today, even while we were playing a pick up game of basketball (I live in the provincial housing (ghetto) of Toronto). After I decided i should take a break from Warning sign, I put my ipod beside me and just sat on a nearby bench. I hear 3 gunshots. At first, i thought it would be…

CHRIS MARTIN is battling to be fit in time for COLDPLAY’s comeback shows – after injuring himself in rehearsals. The frontman has been left hobbling after twisting his knee awkwardly during practice sessions for the quartet’s eagerly-awaited Monday night gig in London. The rockers will introduce album Viva La Vida – which is released today – at a concert at Brixton Academy and have been deep in preparations for weeks. A source said: “Chris has been in absolute agony with his knee. He’s had to strap it and has been hobbling around the place. He doesn’t want to cancel the show so is going to fight through the pain barrier.” I wonder if it has anything to do with…

Coldplay's Chris Martin: A low-key, ego-free rock star Critics may be awarding Chris Martin gold stars for his creative output on Coldplay's new album, but he flunks the rock-star test when it comes to swagger. In a field notorious for outsized egos and overweening braggarts, the singer delights in denigrating himself and brandishing his imperfections the way his peers flash tattoos. In a self-mocking voice mail, he identifies himself as the singer for "Britain's favorite soft-rock experts." Describing the surfeit of material crafted for Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, out Tuesday, Martin cracks: "We write a lot of songs, and most are even worse …

Coldplay's new album is out tomorrow and set to send Leona Lewis flying off her Year's Biggest Album pedestal. Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends is thundering towards No.1. And online retailer Play.com says one copy is being snapped up every minute at peak times. Yet we fear this heady news may have sent the chaps doolally. Their fourth album is heavily influenced by ghosts and ghouls. And Chris Martin says he is now fascinated by things that go bump in the night. He said: "I have had one experience in Wales. I woke up and there was this sort of hot air moving around the end of the bed. And it wasn't Jonny just doing a fart." Sounds like he's heading d…

Of course, my life is one big cosmic joke. Six years ago, I walked into a Best Buy and bought an album. I went along with my 2 best friends, and after getting in the car, I put the cd on. Me and my friends listened to it for about 30 seconds before my friend Niel said, "wtf is this crap?" I guess he didn't like "A rush of blood to the head." I knew from that moment on, Coldplay would not work in my favor. To this day, they are my favorite band. I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars attending their concerts. I have all their albums, b-sides, and rare live songs. To this day I've never found someone in my area with the same devotion and genuine love for this band. …

I'm still in love with this song, even after hearing all the others on the album. This is me just singing the song without any music, I added a few vocal twists to it as well. Hope you like... BTW, it was recorded with an MP3 player, so if the quality isn't up to your standards (decent), my apologies. If I screwed up any of the lyrics, I also apologize for that. If you enjoy it and want me to do sing any of the other songs off the new album let me know... Thanx all!:) Heres the link. http://media.putfile.com/Viva-la-Vida-Acappella

I never really asked myself. Exactly what type of people listen to Coldplay. older adult, younger adult, teens, or people with just pure good taste in music. I consider myself a jock at school and i dont hear much about jocks liking Coldplay. Answer some of these questions for me.

4/5 excellent by Adam Downer STAFF (77 Reviews) 2008-06-09 | 56 comments | 26950 views Other Reviews: David Young * (4.5), Attention Whore (4.5), Blair * (4), Summary: Well. This is a surprise. Give Coldplay credit for their guts. After the so-inoffensive-it-hurt X&Y, Coldplay could have taken the safe route and continued to make heart-warming ballads and spaced out piano rock that would garner lots of cash regardless of its actual worth until the end of their days, and everyone would have been just fine with that. Indifferent, maybe, but just fine nonetheless. But then we wouldn’t have Viva La Vida. Rolling Stone categorized X&Y as “the so…

Last week TimeOut got a sneak preview of Coldplay's new album, Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends - call it Viva for short - before its release on Monday. There's been much talk about it being Coldplay's Kid A, but never fear, it's still Coldplay and a minor revolution rather than a bloody one. These days they are more like a brand than a band, making the album one of the year's biggest releases. An example of the power Chris Martin and co wield in the music business lies in the fact that the performance of Viva is essential to the wellbeing of their record company, EMI. Here's some first impressions of what Viva sounds like to TimeOut and what the band …
