Anyone knows the name of this song, and who's performing it? I think it's the french singer, who's name is something like Alise?! You probably know what song I'm talking about, so I'd appreciate the answer.

Music including U2's could be repackaged The world's biggest record company is to sell CDs in basic cardboard sleeves in a bid to compete with online sales. Universal Music Group is introducing three tiers of packaging in Europe, also including deluxe and sturdier versions of the standard case. It expects the basic CDs to sell for about £7, the standard for about £10, and the deluxe - offering bonus CDs or DVDs - for around £14. The company said the CD had not "had much of a revamp in the last 20 years". "We thought we should reboot the consumer's experience of buying CDs," said Universal's executive vice president Max Hole. He said the basic package was aimed a…

Books and music retailer HMV has reported a 20% fall in annual profits to £98.2m ($180.3m) and warned that current trading remains challenging. HMV said that sales had been hit by competition from supermarkets and by more people buying products online. The firm, which bought the Ottakar's book chain this year, saw like-for-like sales fall 5.7% in the year to April while current sales are down 10.1%. It has also announced plans to merge its Waterstone's and Ottakar's chains. The move - which will expand the Waterstone's chain to more than 330 outlets - will result in a number of redundancies among Ottakar's staff, although the details have yet to be finalised. The …

  10. 'Thank you everyone for waiting for us’ are Chris Martin’s first words to the already fired-up Nokia Isle of Wight Festival revellers. Clearly, most people are actually here to see this English world-wide sensation anyway. But Chris and the other members in Coldplay don’t care. They know where they’re from and they also know who got them where they are right now; at the pinnacle of musical superstardom. This is the culmination of three days of music in the sun – a festival experience you normally wouldn’t dare dream of in this country. No mud, no rain, lots of lobster-tinged punters who didn’t think suncream was a staple for a festival over here. There’s no big fuss…

  12. Royal Mail managers are urgently investigating the alleged disappearance of T in the Park tickets. Their inquiry follows a complaint that a pair of tickets for the music festival was not delivered to a customer in Bathgate, West Lothian. A spokesman said the security of mail was of "paramount importance". In May, postal workers suspected of stealing tickets for Radio 1's Big Weekend concert in Dundee were suspended and later resigned. Meanwhile, as the festival gears up to take place at Balado in Kinross on 8 and 9 July, T in the Park bosses said tickets being sold for profit on the internet would be confiscated. Commenting on the missing ticket claim, the…

I like stealing thread ideas..... This should provide some interesting discussion for a while. Put a list of however many you want (But not past 20.) Any type of musician, instrumentalist, vocalist etc. OK, this is very hard, I'll admit, but I'll try. And this includes a lot of people that are just my personal prefernece that would never be considered on an official list. 1. Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age [sorta], Probot) 2. Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead) 3. Eric Clapton (Mainly solo but also: Cream, The Yardbirds, probably more..) 4. Thom Yorke (Radiohead) 5. John Bonham (Led Zeppelin) 6. Angus Young (AC/DC) 7. Geo…

  17. An unconfirmed post on rock collective Elephant 6's website says the frontman of folksy super-troupe Neutral Milk Hotel is releasing new material. Rumors are circulating that the mysterious frontman of the lo-fi folk collective, Neutral Milk Hotel, is compiling unreleased songs for a new album. After dropping In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, Neutral Milk Hotel's landmark 1998 album, Mangum's primary band went on permanent hiatus. Rumors circulated as to Mangum's whereabouts and activities, but the singer recently lived in Quebec where he recorded unreleased music. A post signed by "Jeff" on Elephant 6 Recording Company's website has caused more speculation about what …

I did not see a thread for this so it is. If you don't know who John Williams is, than I will try to break it down for you. He is a composer who is the best I think. He has made the music for many movies like Star Wars, Jaws, Harry Potter, ET, Home Alone, Indian Jones, War Of The Worlds, and many more. So do any of you people know him and if you do, do you think he makes some good music?

To be honest theyre not quite as good as I hoped because there are only 3 backstage (one of these is a random guy). but there are some priceless ones of the crowd (steph, carley, louise and me) all looking absolutely manic! anyway i'll put them up tomorrow on photobucket. hold your breaths!!!!!!

Interview with Lou Reed: Nervously, I pick the most topical question I can, and hit him with it. "Mr Reed, what did you think of Coldplay covering your song Perfect Day at the Isle of Wight Festival?" If it were humanly possible, Reed's expression darkens even further. "They did whaaaaaaat?" I tell him Chris Martin told the media that because Reed hadn't played it during his set, Coldplay did it in theirs. "You're kidding." Reed looks so infuriated that I'm still not sure whether his next question "Have you heard that?" is directed at me or members of his entourage. I hurriedly try to pacify him, telling him that although I wasn't at the Isle of Wight and people …
