So our government had talked about setting this in motion if they were elected, and thus they are setting the wheels in motion now. Complete shite! So please all Canadians, sign the petition to stop it: http://stopspying.ca/ And join OpenMedia's facebook group as well: http://www.facebook.com/openmedia.ca They helped to shut down the metered internet billing a bit ago. I download a lot of shows from here and elsewhere, and definitely did not want to pay through my arse for that. I don't need the government on my computer watching what I do either. So if you are Canadian, please sign it if you value any sort of privacy.

I just wondered what your thoughts were on the Rolling Stone list of the top 100 songs of the 2000's.. Coldplay had four songs on there, 26...Clocks 34...Yellow 54...The Scientist 68...Viva La Vida The full list can be seen if you click HERE . Thoughts? Here are mine I personally thought that a couple of the songs were properly placed but some deserved to be on it, or higher on it. Crazy as #1 I have no problem with because EVERYONE likes that song. Its a rare song that crosses all genres and everyone likes it. Its catchy. Fleet Foxes White Winter Hymnal should be higher. I do agree with MGMT (Time to pretend is a GREAT song) and U2's Beautiful D…

Facebook juror sentenced to eight months for contempt A juror who contacted a defendant via Facebook, causing a trial to collapse, has been jailed for eight months for contempt of court. Joanne Fraill had admitted the charge, in the first UK case of its kind. London's High Court heard that Fraill, 40, of Blackley, Greater Manchester, had contacted Jamie Sewart, 34, who had already been cleared in a drugs trial. Sewart, of Bolton, was given a two-month sentence suspended for two years after she was found guilty of contempt. Because other defendants were still on trial at the time of the contact between Fraill and Sewart, the judge decided to discharge the jury an…

I normally use thepiratebay to find torrent links and all, but my country has blocked the website, and a couple of other websites too. I can still access piratebay for now, but I don't want to risk it. So I'm wondering; now that those websites are blocked, my torrent is still downloading torrents linked from piratebay, will I be caught? Or is piratebay just a site that shares the links? I think it's pretty much a n00b question, but I just want to clear my mind on this.

Is this the sickest movie ever made? Film board refuses to classify Human Centipede 2 as it could ‘harm viewers’ By Daily Mail Reporter Last updated at 1:12 PM on 7th June 2011 The UK's movie ratings body has taken the unusual step of refusing outright to classify a new horror film - and warned there was a real risk of harm to viewers. Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence) is the sequel to 2009's stomach-churning German movie about a mad scientist who grafts three kidnap victims together by stitching them mouth to anus. The sequel - which was shot in London with an all-British cast - deals with a man who becomes 'sexually obsessed' with a DVD recordin…

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/may/30/germany-to-shut-nuclear-reactors Being me, I'm certainly positively excited about this. Do you think Germany will need to proceed to import atomic energy from abroad (it does at the moment), energy-prices wil rise enormously, coal-power-stations will have to be restarted (aka co2-emissions rise), Germany's industry and jobs will run down massively, atomic plants are the safest, cheapest and cleanest way of producing energy, there will be black-outs in peak hours and all of the winter seasons? :p I know all these arguments. They make my brain feel drowsy. I hope the decision to step out of nuclear energy will l…

Web giants promote new IPv6 internet address system The biggest ever test of the internet's new address system is taking place. Google, Yahoo, Microsoft Bing and Facebook are among the companies switching-on IPv6 versions of their websites for the one day trial. The technology is gradually being introduced because the world is running out of older IPv4 addresses as more devices come online. Companies and home users may need new networking equipment, however the transition is likely to take years. World IPv6 day is partly a technical exercise by internet companies to see how the technology works, and partly an awareness-raising initiative. For the small percentag…

Twitter aflutter over UK super-injunctions The debate over super-injunctions granted by UK judges has taken a new turn with a Twitter user listing celebrities who have allegedly taken out the gagging orders. The account on the social media site named six separate cases of actors, television presenters, a chef and a footballer, in an apparent effort to undermine the effectiveness of so-called super-injunctions being granted by British courts. The posts rapidly garnered the user more than 20,000 followers. The posts’ accuracy was called into question, however, when Jemima Khan, former girlfriend of Hugh Grant and one of the celebrities named, denied through her ow…

http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/asiapcf/09/03/new.zealand.quake/index.html?hpt=T1#fbid=szQX1NM5FTm&wom=false (CNN) -- An earthquake that struck New Zealand on Saturday caused "a lot of damage," though there are no reports of serious injuries or major damage, an emergency official said. "It was like a freight train running through the house," said Chris Monroe, operations manager for the New Zealand Fire Service. The quake had a magnitude of 7.0, down from an initial assessment of 7.4, the U.S. Geological Survey said. It struck about four miles from Christchurch, a city of about 380,000 people. An aftershock with a magnitude of 5.7 struck not far from the…

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1394422/Saint-Bono-facing-huge-Glastonbury-protest--avoiding-tax.html Bono is aware that taxes go to paying off interest on loans politicians took out in the peoples' names, not to actually helping the poor. Bankers and manufacturers of military machinery benefit when you pay your taxes. I hope he explains this to the people of Ireland, it might give them something to think about.
