  1. Yeah, not really. But at around noon (five hours ago) I was on the Guardian news website, on this page: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2011/may/18/pundits-of-the-season-premier-league Under one of the sections it has two small parts in blue that I wanted to click on - the bit that says 'following Gennaro Gattuso's tussle with Joe Jordan' (under the section Graeme Souness) and 'Sit back and enjoy.' under Eamon Dunphy. Now I presume that these are simply clips of what the Guardian are referring to. When I click on them I go to a webpage which tells me: 'Your HomeSafe settings prevent access to this site.' Then I have the option to log in and change the priva…

A landslide has hit an orphanage in Malaysia, killing five children and burying at least 10 other people. The incident took place at around 2:30pm local time at the Children's Hidayah Madrasah Al-Taqwa orphanage in Hulu Langat, just south of the capital Kuala Lumpur. Fire department deputy director Morni Mamat said 24 people - 20 children and four adult caretakers - were buried when the landslide struck. Eight children and one of the orphanage caretakers were pulled alive from the muddy debris, police said, while rescuers recovered the bodies of five boys aged between 11 and 14. The orphanage had 49 occupants, five o…

  5. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92o1JLabCYk]YouTube - Royal wedding: Prince William gives Kate Diana's ring[/ame] Prince William is to marry long-term girlfriend Kate Middleton next year, Clarence House has announced. William, second in line to the throne, will marry in London next spring or summer and live in north Wales, where he is serving with the RAF. "We are both very, very happy," the prince said. He had proposed on holiday in Kenya in October, giving his fiancee his mother's engagement ring. Miss Middleton said joining the Royal Family was a "daunting prospect". "Hopefully I'll take it in my stride," she added. The couple, both 28, met at St…

  6. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_obama_mideast I think it's good for Obama to try to help out the situation in the Middle East between Israel and Palestine. I think that their PM does have a point in that you need to be careful of Palestine just because their government has ties with Hamas, which has repeatedly stated for the destruction of Israel. Also the stance of the rest of the Middle East as we know is against Israel for the most part. I do however see how it could possibly help in trying to make amends between the nations and try to get to more of a peaceful situation. But to be honest I have strong doubts that no matter what you do there will be tension. T…

  7. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110520/ap_on_re_us/us_xgr_tennessee_schools_sexuality I think this is ridiculous for them to pass a law like this. With kids at that age absorbing everything they can, it's just making them completely ignorant of others. How people can actually pass these kinds of bills or have that way of thinking is beyond me.

  15. http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2011/may/17/liam-fox-challenge-pm-overseas-aid-targets Defence secretary says statutory requirement to spend 0.7% of national income on aid will lead to legal challenges I find this quite interesting. I know very little about how this works and the complexities of our economy so I'm up for listening to others opinions on this, but it seems to me that if he's for spending 0.7%, why would he rather continually produce reports to see if they are managing it but not actually necessarily doing anything about these reports? Seems like a waste of money for a party cutting down on bureaucracy and pointless expenditure etc. I recko…

Bomb warning received in London A bomb warning has been received relating to central London, the Metropolitan Police has confirmed. The force said the threat did not provide specifics about location or time. The Mall and other central London streets were closed on Monday morning although a link has not been confirmed. The warning is thought to be related to Irish dissident republicans but the threat level for Northern Ireland-related terrorism has not been changed. The BBC understands the police received a coded bomb warning on Sunday night. The Met Police statement said: "All officers have been advised to be highly vigilant to ensure the safety of London." …

  18. Police are to be given new powers to fine careless drivers on the spot, rather than taking them to court. Motorists who tailgate, undertake or cut up other vehicles could face fines of up to a hundred pounds. Motorists who make a genuine mistake will be offered help to improve their driving. Previously bad drivers would have had to be taken to courts, at great expense to the taxpayers. It is hoped the new measure will lead to a reduction in traffic offences. The new laws were introduced today by Transport Secretary Philip Hammond and are expected to come into force next year. 19. Computer says, you're fired: how technology dictates the way we work Watson, a computer system developed by IBM, made headlines around the world earlier this year when it beat established Jeopardy champions Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter in two televised exhibition games. Jennings later claimed the format of the game – which relies on quick reflexes as much as the ability to answer trivia questions – favoured the computer, suggesting that without the buzzer he would have won "every time". However, he was impressed enough to semi-jokingly conclude: "I, for one welcome our new computer overlords." Until now it has been assumed that job growth will be in the informati…

I don't understand why people aren't paying as much attention to the revolution in Syria as much as the ones that happened in Tunis and Egypt! If Basshar Al Assad's regime falls it would have more impact on the region than all the previous revolutions, Syria is, supposedly, Israel's biggest enemy/threat right now because it's directly linked to Iran and it provides Hezbollah with arms and ammunitions (the fuckers:angry:)...when Basshar is overthrown all that is going to change, i cannot imagine the impact that change is going to have given how much power Syria has right now!
