  6. The ban is set to impose some of the toughest anti-smoking measures in a major city New York smoking ban extended to parks and coastlines Some of the toughest anti-smoking measures to be adopted in a major city have been approved by councillors in New York. The measures are set to extend a smoking ban to municipal parks, beaches and even Times Square. The ban will take effect three months after it is signed by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. It will make it an offence to light up in any of the city's 1,700 parks and along 14 miles (23km) of coastline. "This summer, New Yorkers who go to our parks and beaches for some fresh air and fun will be able to breath…

Time is running out for the internet's current addressing scheme Net approaches address exhaustion The last big blocks of the net's dwindling stock of addresses are about to be handed out. The event that triggers their distribution is widely expected to take place in the next few days. When that happens each of the five regional agencies that hand out net addresses will get one of the remaining blocks of 16 million addresses. The addresses in those last five blocks are expected to be completely exhausted by September 2011. The trigger event will likely come from the agency that oversees net addresses in the Asia-Pacific region, a body known as Apnic. When A…

The NFL is practically a year around sport now, with Free Agency and the Draft there is always something to talk about. Who's your team and are you happy with what they have done so far in the off-season? I was posting in the NFL thread here about the New Orleans Saints vs. Indianapolis Colts superbowl game in a thread that was about the previous superbowl a year before so I don't know how successful this thread will be... Hope there are other die hard football fans on this board!

Introducing Take Fat! 80-stone tribute band wows Britain's Got Talent judges By Liz Thomas Last updated at 11:36 AM on 2nd February 2011 Comments (15) Add to My Stories If they play their cards right, maybe one day they’ll be bigger than Take That. Oh, they already are. Take Fat, as they are known, are five rather chubby fellows with a love of the music of Take That. When they strolled on to the stage at the auditions for Britain’s Got Talent – only slightly puffing at the exertion – their 80 stone of exuberance stole the show. Hoping all the smart folks here can point me in the right direction. I'm trying weed through all the programs available that would allow me to convert a DVD movie I already own into an iTunes acceptable format, so I can ultimately put a few flicks onto my iPhone or iPod. I don't mind paying for the program, but there are so so many options out there, and (of course) they all tout that they're the "best." I'm not computer literate enough to understand the benefits of each. If it means anything, I run Windows Vista. Thanks in advance for your help!

Recently with the ousting of the goverment in Tunisia and protests in Yemen, Alegria and Eygpt.. all these protests are being orgainsed by groups on such sites. Hard to imagine we are living in a age wheras social network sites can bring down the world, it would not supraise me if a war started over comments on sites in the end.
