April 1, 200917 yr L.A. is getting Black Eyed Peas...DAMN IT!!! I am most likely going to travel during this tour, so perhaps I will get a band I like better in another city. For my taste in music, it won't be too hard to beat L.A.
April 1, 200917 yr it's like karma...if there are ten potential opening acts, and you are fine with nine of them, guess which one you are going to get in your home town? That's right, the one you DON'T WANT!

That's right, the one you DON'T WANT! I'm so sorry! I had the same fear until they announced today that Muse is opening in Tampa! Woo hoo! (still wish it had been Snow Patrol instead, but whatever)
April 1, 200917 yr L.A. doesn't get Snow Patrol or Elbow for Coldplay's concert, and now we don't get Snow Patrol or Muse for U2's concert? Throw us a bone here! :bigcry::bigcry::bigcry:
April 1, 200917 yr the ticket sales for this tour have been nothing short of amazing. this of U2 France : With sales this morning of over 82000 tickets in New York, 72000 in Boston and 65000 in Chicago the U2 360 Tour will set the largest single day ticket sales in American history. thats on top of the million or so tickets they've sold in Europe.
April 1, 200917 yr What is the purpose of the black eyed peas being on this tour anyhow. I understand the wil.i.am connection, but do you honestly think there are any U2 fans in any city screaming, "yes, we got the black eyed peas?" I am sure there are some out there, but certainly not anyone I know.

The producers (Paul McGuiness, etc.) should really think before they put as opening acts.
April 1, 200917 yr Probably the same reason Coldplay had Jay-Z and Jon Hopkins on the ticket. Guy said its nice to have an artist from a different genre, that doesn't like us opening so fans don't get an extra hour of the same thing. It also probably helps to attract casual listeners who are int that kind of stuff.
April 1, 200917 yr Arrgh, I'm still pretty disappointed right now. It's not worth flying out to a show that has a Muse or Snow Patrol opener, but I've suddenly lost a bit of excitement. For a split second, I confused them with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and thought, "Hey, that ain't bad!" But then I realized it was the Black Eyed Peas. :( My excitement will no doubt recover, but I have a lot of green envy right now. :sneaky:
April 1, 200917 yr I loved Jon Hopkins, great choice for opening. I guess same reason that Kayne West opened for U2 last tour.........
April 1, 200917 yr Strangely we didn't get Jon Hopkins the 2nd night at Atlanta, just Sleepercar. I read in your blog that you got both. A shame because he has some amazing stuff.
April 1, 200917 yr Not that I go to a U2 show to see the opening act, as I would go see U2 wherever, whenever, with whoever opening. It's just nice to get a good show from another opening act. Not that I am the biggest Kings of Leon fan, but I enjoyed their set and have since bought a few of their CDs after they opened for U2 on the Vertigo tour. Whose going to be converted, or go buy a black eyed peas CD, after seeing them open for U2. It just doesn't make sense. By the way, I am insanely pumped up for this tour.
April 1, 200917 yr Bought 2 more tickets to the 2nd show @ Giants Stadium, but this time, the cheap seats lol I can't afford to use any money in my account for the next few weeks now lol

April 1, 200917 yr *raises hand* :D sorry for you though, hope you can travel to see them There's always one in every group :) Wanna come to L.A.?
April 1, 200917 yr ^ Awww, I feel so... special. I'd love to. Too bad L.A. is so out-of-the-way. You could come to Göteborg. We have Snow Patrol :wink3:
April 1, 200917 yr ^ well, I do plan to travel to see U2 on this tour, but I'm keeping it within the United States. Is there any way I can just send you the Black Eyed Peas? Can you please explain the appeal of songs like "My Humps" and "Let's Get Retarded?" I'm not judging...I'm all ears...
April 1, 200917 yr I must say that hearing Pump It at a hockey game is a good...excuse the pun....pump up song.
April 1, 200917 yr Yeah, ship Feist down from Canada (or whoever else respectable you have) and we'll package up the Black Eyed Peas and deliver them to you via first class! We'll even cover shipping & handling fees! :laugh3:
April 1, 200917 yr Well we have Snow Patrol opening in Toronto. So Toronto can take BEP, and you guys can have Snow Patrol. Luckily I'm going to Boston and not Toronto :P
April 1, 200917 yr Yeah!!! I just got a ticket to Tampa! Section 112 row K which is right next to the Red Zone. It was rather expensive, but I think well worth it! Total was almost $300 with all those ticketbastard charges! But I can just drive an hour down the road to get there! Oh, and Muse is opening in Tampa. :) I have never gotten into Muse, but have heard alot about them...so I guess now's the time to start listening to their stuff. I usually do that with the openers, so I can tell whether I will be out drinking or watching. I am glad though they are opening, since I have already been to Snow Patrol show and BEP, don't care about them. They are seen enough on TV. OK, so is Muse good?
April 1, 200917 yr ^I prefer good assigned seating as opposed to GA. Do you know how freakish U2 fans are? You will have to sleep 3 nights outside the stadium and, even then, you will probably be half way back in the crowd with GA.
