Anyone want the producer of the next record to be Jon Hopkins again?

Anyone want these opening acts next tour: Jake Bugg, Wolf Alice and Jamie xx?

Anyone want Coldplay to make a show where they just plain rock out?

Anyone want Coldplay to make a show where they just play dead relaxing stuff?

Anyone want Coldplay to perform at the Oscar's?

Anyone want Coldplay to reunite with their old sound?

Answer/Discuss these questions. Just for fun:P

Jon Hopkins, yes!

Jamie xx, check!

Rocking out, check!

Relaxing stuff, yep!

I want them to perform at the Oscars and the Olympics and the Super Bowl and the Rose Bowl and in outer space and in the coming New World Order :P

  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

I could live without them performing at the Oscars, but everything else would be awesome. Especially if the "relaxing" show is a nice acoustic show with stuff like this:

Yeeeeesssyessyessssyeeeesyessyes !!!!

I was browsing on a site called TheTopTens and found their rankings for the best Coldplay songs. I don't agree with a lot of it, especially this comment below Warning Sign (currently #21 on the list):

The star here is Nick Champion's consistently haunting guitar that is present throughout the song.

:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

I sometimes think that chris is way too humble and nice for his own good....i feel like an A hole for wishing that he would tell some people to f**** off from time to time :p

Aww really? Chris's personality

was one of the main reasons I became a full on 'Coldplayer' (being obsessed with everything they do lol) over being just a fan of their music.

He's such an inspiration to me, I don't think I'd ever want him to change haha

And also tbh while it may not have been true previously, I think his calm and kind nature is earning them a LOT of respect from everyone right now especially

after glastonbury.

Everyone's noticing

-inserts excerpt from an interview-

He’s also an anomaly in that he’s instantly recognizable frontman for a stadium headlining band, yet he’s still almost unbelievably humble. While most artists of his stature have an entourage that seems to walk on eggshells, he seems to have a calming effect on everyone around him.

Interviewers, non Coldplay fans, other celebrities, even the paparazzi haha

They're much less likely to heckle him or try and provoke him when he wishes them a good day after having a camera shoved in his face rather than if he reacted aggressively.

They won over so many non Coldplay fans after glastonbury and the Viola beach tribute so it's definitely helping reduce the number of haters.

Not to mention they're getting a lot more glowing reviews now even from people who used to turn their nose up at them. It's probably difficult to be mean when the person you're writing about is so respectful and kind haha

So I actually think their being super nice is helping them a lot more than it is harming them :p

I do get what you mean though

I used to feel that way too lol. Like he never has a backbone. But I think the fact that he's so nice is because he has the biggest backbone. I think he used to be more bitter.

I thought he seemed more confused than bitter. Confused about why so many people seemed to hate them all of sudden. I also feel like he was a bit unprepared at that time for the level of success and fame they received so that was probably confusing as well.

I think he still had the same personality though. This bit from a 2001 interview stood out to me so much. Like seriously who does that.

Chris Martin sits in a warm pub minutes away from his north London home, a Remembrance Day poppy pinned to his denim jacket 12 days early. Concerned, he gives a woolly hat to a bare-headed Select. Chris Martin is A Good Person.

Conversely, anyone who tries to interview him feels like A Bad Person.

https://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/nov/11/chris-martin-interview-coldplay-yellow-head-full-of-dreams

Lol at the conversely though xD

The only difference is he was a lot less calm back then.

@ 5:25 you can really see how guilty and terrible showing some 'backbone' made him feel.

I always got the impression that he was full of self doubt when they were younger, but now it seems like it's just actual genuine humility.

One of the main reasons I would never want the band to change is because their whole story is such an inspiration. It really shows that nice guys can be successful too :) which is something the world really needs to realize with all the things going on right now imo

I wish more kids would listen to Coldplay rather than Taylor Swift or something :c

They're such ideal role models.

Hahaha sorry for posting this much too long post in the middle of some other conversation xD

ok wow now I actually feel like and asshole XD but you know what? I understand your point. i have seen people who are not fans of coldplay say that they respect chris for his actions. he is just too good for this world

EDIT: btw thank you for the guardian interview. love it!

Did Chris ever have braces? In this interview he says he had them when he was 19, in 1997, but I can't find any photos from that time where he has them

https://www.theguardian.com/music/2016/jun/23/chris-martin-coldplay-glastonbury-opposite-of-walls-and-brexit

I'm sure he did lol but I could never find any pictures either D:

Also, it's a lovely interview but this

his muscles are so big, in the flesh, that his shoulders look like two Tonka trucks battling it out.

Ahahahaha I can't stop laughing :laugh3::laugh3::laugh3:

I'm sorry D:

Don't feel like that D:

I totally get what you mean though. It can be really annoying when you're a Coldplay fan and love the band so much and you see someone else be disrespectful to them or you hear people mock the band for not being 'manly' or being 'wimpy' or whatever nonsense they say

Yes. He's a precious little cupcake <3 who offers the paparazzi harassing him some chocolate xD

So that's why chris let his hair grow long in the viva era? [emoji23]

I don't get how they can write something like that without doing the tiniest bit of research...

So that's why chris let his hair grow long in the viva era? [emoji23]

Hahaha I wouldn't be surprised if that genuinely was the reason xD

I really like his hair in this interview though. He looks so handsome :dazzled:

Well actually he looks beautiful no matter what :D

That's true. I can see why they would feel confused. I think they probably walked in to this knowing they would get a hater base but maybe not to the extent they ended up seeing. And then post- a rush of blood to the head era they seem to take plenty of hits because they were unprepared, but then they tried new methods to sort themselves out and have a new outlook. I think X and y maybe was turning point for them, and maybe sometime after was the start of "nice Chris"

And yeah I love this Chris too

Apologies for intercepting this wonderful conversation about Chris's nice-ness :)

Chris was always nice ! Actually I liked the early, awkward, dorky, insecure Chris better :)

Exactly. Chris was always nice.

The current Chris is just way more calm and happy.

Lol he's still somewhat dorky I think

He's just a lot more mellow in interviews :D

While the younger Chris was adorable, I think I like this one better because I like seeing him happy and content :3

Sorry, must be U.S. only then :/
