You are so lucky! I think I would just be speechless if you know, on a normal day, Chris Martin just decided to watch a movie and I was you know, doing nothing, oh and wait -- biggest rock star in the world is buying a ticket from you...

 

Love the signature. I want one. Seriously, we need like a tracking device on these guys -- not to harass them, of course -- just to show our love on a minutely basis. (Totally joking... kind of!) ;)

 

Anyway, PLEASE give us the transcript of your conversation with the lovely Christopher Martin of COLDPLAY. :)

 

And I totally understand how you feel/ felt. I mean, if I met one of them, I wouldn't want them to think of me as just the usual (obsessed) fan. I mean, you want them to believe you are 'different' -- if that makes sense? -- Like, you actually care... that you do really love them. :\

Well it's funny because the first time i was in close contact with Chris i couldn't speak (whole other story involving getting into a soundcheck) but this time i knew i had to speak to him. I was working at the bar and these three people came up and in my head i just went shit! It's Chris Martin. I then denounced it as i had just seen the Chris in the new Kanye West video with short hair and the guy had longer hair. I looked again and i just knew it was Chris.

I got very excited, i knew i would be the only excited one because a lot of people in the cinema are proper indie kids and too cool for school but i didn't care. I quickly rushed over to the auditorium entrance where the other bloke was buying water he then came over and i ripped their tickets and he said thank you very much. I considered going up during the adverts but thought it would be rude. So i had to wait almost two hours waiting to meet Chris knowing he was in the auditorium. I did cover somebody in there for half an hour (hence how i know he had his hood up).

When the film got on to it's last couple of songs. I though as he's Chris Martin he may leave early to avoid people but he didn't. However as soon as 'directed by Martin Scorsese' came up he was straight out of his seat first and came to the back. I had my ticket and pen ready and the conversation went like this, cannot be 100% as i was in so much awe:

 

Me: Hello Chris sorry to bother you do you mind if i could get an autograph?

Chris: Yeah! Of course, what's your name?

Me: Max

(Chris signs autograph as you see in the attachment)

Me: Did you enjoy the film?

Chris: Yeah it was good!

Me: (handed back autograph)Thank you, i'm really looking forward to Viva la Vida, is it ok to ask what the first single is going to be?

Chris: Well thats yet to be decided we've got to talk about that with the company but we have a track called Violet Hill coming out as a download only in about three weeks

Me: Ahh Violet Hill thats like second or third last on the album isn't it?

Chris: (smiling as i know that) Yeah well we've got the secret track the escapist aswell

 

Then Chris's other party turn up.

 

Chris: Well nice to meet you Max, see you soon

Me: Bye

 

Chris starts walking off and singing a stones song and comments on how loud the film was played at

 

Me: (bumping in again) Yeah it is loud. We've measured the decibles(sp?) and it too loud for prolonged hearing which is annoying as we have to sit in there all day!

 

Chris: Yeah it was too loud! Well see you later?

 

 

It was brilliant. The autograph went straight into my locker and i will be framing it. Funny though because Jonny personalized my autograph also it's great. So whether what he told me happens it was great to meet the guy who fronts a band who've played a very important role in my life.

oh my gosh, that's just SUCH a great story. i have to say that i'm terribly jealous, but also incredibly happy for you! you're one of the luckiest people on here, i think, to have met them and had a real conversation with him AND getting real information out of him! i just can't imagine what i would have done...probably made a huge fool out of myself in one way or another. you seem to have handled it extremely well!

 

and thank you so much for sharing that information with us, first through ian and then telling your story on here. we salivate at every little bit of news, and this was more than just a little bit of news at the time!

Narrative of my meeting with Prospekt

 

Me: Hello are you Propsket?

Prospekt: YES! (no pun intended)

Me: When will the next Prospekt entry be?

Prospekt: June 3rd

Me: :o NO WAY! YOU SICK BASTARD!

Prospekt: Oh and LP4 was scrapped and coldplay broke up because i drove them crazy

Me: YOU son of a b*tch *kicks prospekt in groin several time*

Prospekt: I have a secret weapon too! *Pulls put rick roll cd and plays it super loudly

Me: Thats horrible music!

Shine A Light seems to be popular with the musicians, we had Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkey's in to see it the other day. To the person who asked for the Jonny story. If you don't know it Habitat is a furniture and home shop in England and Europe and i worked in the flagship on Tottenham Court Road. It was a haven for celebrities and especially indie musicians. I have served Bjork, Michelle from the Magic Numbers. Tim Rice-Oxley and the drummer from Keane. Dougie from Travis, Imogen Heap, Robert Plant. There are loads of others including actors which makes working a crappy retail job all that bit easier. Jonny came in twice when i worked there. He came in and i didn't see him, a friend who is now my girlfriend called me down and i was shaking. Anyway he always comes in with his other half, second time he came in he had a really dodgey tash. Anyway i asked him about (what was then) going to be the live in toronto DVD but he told me it was only going to be the tv special. He was also very nice and personalized my autograph.
