June 26, 200916 yr this is really sad... I wasn't a fan and also think he was a really weird person but he was an amazing artist!
June 26, 200916 yr RIP, michael. i wasn't that big of a fan at all, but still really sad.. he was only 50.
June 26, 200916 yr I lived through all their music from "ABC" and I guess my most favorite "Thriller" to "We Are The World"... "Billy Jean" and "Beat It"... so many great songs! Learned the Thriller dance in a class and loved dancing it... was so much fun! Then one day at work, doing some surveys in Downtown Disney by one of the shops. Suddenly, they closed the front doors and guests were waiting to get in. I was standing by the window on the side of the building and was totally overwhelmed when I looked through the window and there was Michael Jackson on the otherside of the glass, not more than 2 ft. from me. I will always remember the excitement of seeing him so close. He was a worldwide entertainer and sorry that I never got to see him perform live. I did try to get one of those tickets to London, but seemed impossible at the time. Sold out all 50 shows.... what a bummer to all those people who will be receiving refunds! May he be in a better place.
June 26, 200916 yr Auck, what a shock I got waking up this morning. Lights burned my eyes, could hear the TV down the hall while I was in bed about rumors that Michael Jackson was dead. "That's not right, that couldn't be" I thought. A few minutes later it was confirmed that he indeed was. Can't say much about the private life, but his songs were undoubtedly brilliant. I danced to Bad when I was 6 for a jazz performance, it remains my favourite by him  'tis a sad day in music
June 26, 200916 yr If any Aussies feel like listening to some of his songs today, Nova are playing them continuously.
June 26, 200916 yr Noooo I can't believe it !! Even if he did many stupid things, it's still Michael Jackson !! :stunned: I know, it is quite shocking. Such a great icon...
June 26, 200916 yr i am truly saddened to hear that michael has died....his music will forever play in the hearts of his family, friends and fans
June 26, 200916 yr I spent the whole night in front of the TV but still can't realise that really happened... This is a terrible loss.
June 26, 200916 yr I am surprised as well - he's fairly young! I recall my dad telling me that he had met Michael Jackson when Michael was just a very young kid - how time zooms by, and now he's gone...
June 26, 200916 yr I just woke up and find out this....OMG, I can't believe it?!! Such a great artiste left us...I grow up with his songs and the J5 ones....It feels so weird.... RIP
June 26, 200916 yr OH NO [/sarcasm] This post reminded me of the "OH NO JONNY BUCKLAND IS DEAD" thread last year
June 26, 200916 yr Wow, I just woke up and I was clicking through my bookmarklet when suddenly I read this terrible news! What a sad day! :( Although I've never been one of his biggest fans it feels a bit like someone has stolen a part of my youth now... RIP
June 26, 200916 yr I never been a huge fan but i loved a few of his songs and I am deeply depressed now
June 26, 200916 yr I've heard so many jokes about this today. This isn't a time for jokes, whatever you might have thought of him.;) Somebody on CNN just said he might well have been the greatest performer of all time. That's a distinct possibility. As a singer/dancer, he made the likes of Madonna, Bratney and Trousersnake look second-rate.;)
