Thoughts on Moving To Mars? I liked it. I'll probably be the only one. Oh well!

I actually really liked the song quite a bit. By far my favorite of all the new songs they've played (including ones live).

My favorite too. I'm also really wondering what the actual album will sound like. It's so strange to me that we've heard the studio versions of three different songs, but none of them will actually be on the album.

Am I the only one who never enjoyed Yellow?
I never really enjoyed it either. It's still better than ETIAW in any case.

The two new songs sound nice but I'm not keen on Chris's voice distortion.

MOVING TO MARS FUCK YEAH! :D

Moving To Mars? Their best on the EP. A real grower and I'd like to see it live but I sadly doubt it will be on the album. Really wonderful though.

See, Coldplay ? You can do good when you want to.

I really liked Moving to Mars and it will definitly sounds awesome acoustic & live.

This may be a bold statement, but after I took such a dump on the first two songs, "Moving to Mars" may be their best track since the X&Y era (which is just a nice way of saying "Better than anything off Viva or what we've heard of LP5").

All this positive talk about MTM is making me :freak: because I'm at work and after that I have to visit family so I won't be able to listen to it until maybe 10 hours from now. Argh.

edit: I haven't even listened to it yet, but this guy is so quick at doing covers, and the rest of his stuff his great, so I'm sure the same applies to this. http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4839988&postcount=1

listened to ALL three of the new songs. none of them are good. Major Minus isn't bad though.

edit: Also, I am always amazed because that Adrian kid puts together cover arrangements that are better than the originals literally hours after release every fucking time.

Been quite disappointed with the new songs so far, but I really like Moving to Mars.

I did think ETIAW would grow on me, but it appears to get worse with every listen. :P

If ETIAW and Major Minus both make it onto the full album but Moving to Mars does not, Coldplay are most certainly morons.

I'm listening to it for the first time and I thought it was gonna be worst haha

I thought the piano part was meh but when the guitar starts it gets better. Well I need to give it a few more listens to have a real opinion

i love moving to mars:dazzled:

at last a song whc i fell in love with from the moment i heard it for the first time

and i like MM too although i don't understand the auto tuning of chris's vocals:shrug:

It's a God-awful small affair

To the girl with the mousy hair :awesome:

"Moving to Mars" = victory.

I didn't like the beginning at first, but it's grown on me. I like it more when it gets to the part when the piano is stronger ("And I heard it on the radio..."); it somehow reminds me a little of "42." I couldn't keep myself from smiling around the 2 minute mark when the drums came in full swing. This song makes me happy. Thank you, Coldplay.

Moving To Mars has a typical b-side sound to me. It's kinda weak, I like the other two better. And that says a lot, with ETIAW being a no as well. Major Minus is fun though.

Ranking the EP so far:

  1. Major Minus
  2. Moving To Mars
  3. A big steaming pile of dog turds
  4. Every Teardrop is A Waterfall

:smug:

And I'm hoping only MM is on the album... :\

Song has me thinking to tom petty's 'last dance with mary jane' and pink floyd oddly enough.
