What do you mean, the lyrics as I've posted them are ones I've been tweaking over time and made my final corrections with the letterman concert as the vocals are easier to make out with that performance which was then my second post. I have also checked the lyrics with other concerts and they still seem correct.

 

I'm not only talking about "Us Against the World" but most of the songs they've played in general. The lyrics have slightly changed here and there in different performances. Specifically "Charlie Brown" and "Hurts Like Heaven". I don't think they varied "Us Against the World" much, if at all, throughout its different performances, but the live lyrics may still end up differing from the official studio version's.

 

Just something to keep in mind...

I'm sure the lyrics in my second post are 100% if you compare them with the letterman performance.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that post is the definitively correct lyrics. At least as they have been performing it. I'm not expecting any surprises on the album version outside of it being a bit less stripped down.

I know there's an extra "uh" syllable before Daniel, but he does the same thing a moment late before "lift off before trouble.."

Having listened to this one for about a day now, I find the moment where he repeats "erodes us in the rain" and then transforms it into "and see roses in the rain" is just fantastic - great lyrics on this one though still not quite sure in what sense a Daniel in a lion's den is drunk...

I think it sort of means he lost a friend because the friend got sort of swept away, like a raindrop in a river.....but that's just guess :)

its "see roses in the rain" because if you look at the mylo xyloto full pic(with the 9 tiles) on the left side it says in big letters "see roses in the rain"

It does seem that way....but in all their interviews when someone asks them what certain songs mean they always say you should figure it out for yourself, and it can mean what you want it to mean. So good luck!!!! ;)
