I'm excited for LP6

I wonder what will Coldplay bring out this time after an explosion of colors in MX

An explosion of substance perhaps? ;)

Hopefully they'll come out with an explosion of sound this time. Let's focus more on the music Coldplay,eh?

As long as it's good and there's substance and colour fantastic. Bring it on, Coldplay show us Coldplayers what you've got to give.

^ I like the colorful vibe of Viva, and when I say colorful I mean it should have all colors and not just glowing bright pink like on MX. Viva had pretty much all the moods, including darker things.

I agree with you

How soon will this album be dropping? I assume the promotion will start heating up a few weeks after the comic book series wraps up?

i love viva era !!!

and i love every track of it ....

it would be great if come out a album like viva ....

;)))

I don't really expect it before 2014

i don't believe lp6 will come out any earlier than the end of 2014, more likely somewhere in 2015.

i think the band will take a break in the beginning of 2013 and also after their last leg of the mylo xyloto - tour in latin america, so the first point

when they come back together to talk about a new album will be the end of 2013 / early 2014, even if they already got an idea of a name...

as much as i want to hear new material, i've got to say they deserved a break after that great tour! ;)

Chris - "This is the last big show for three years or so" Brisbane, Australia 21st November 2012....

I don't know about you but I think that is a hint to a more stripped down LP6 and tour. That is unless the next album is in 2015.......

I don't get your inference, it says absolutely nothing about LP6 and the next tour

Yeah, I was thinking this earlier. The last 'big' show could be implying that the next tour/album will be more stripped down and intimate. It could mean nothing though.

Whatever form the next Coldplay album takes I'm sure it'll be as good as the five which preceeded it.

I cannot but cringe at that way of thinking.

i know very cringeworthy!

im certain they're not doing a stripped down acoustic album at this point in their careers. i said it before the pop mainstream scene is very attractive at the moment and they're reveling in playing huge stadiums with girls screaming jumping up and down and all that crap! LP6 will be simillar to MX but maybe a couple more rock songs thrown in there to please the older fans.

whatever LP6 will bring to us.... the mere fact that there is an LP6 already made me smile :)

I don't think they will do anything just to 'please' the older fans, at this stage they can do anything they like and I'm okay with that. I'll love them no matter what kind of music they produce(I admit AROBTTH and VLVODAAHF are by far superiour to MX but I still listen MX every day) So whatever they come up with , acoustic or not, I'll be buying and listening whenever it's going to be released.

I agree, the fact that Coldplay are doing a new album makes everyone smile. I wonder what form it will take. I agree with nvrdmm in as much as I don't think it'll be a stripped down acoustic album. I hope there are some acoustic tracks on it though as well as the acoustic ones, there will be some up tempo songs, ballads and love songs a mixture. Like MX.

If you keep hoping for an acoustic album from Coldplay, you will probably be disappointed.

COLDPLAY EYE NEW LP

COLDPLAY fans have got an early Christmas present – the band is secretly working on a new album.

Laughing off reports that he and the lads are taking a three-year break, Chris Martin told me in an exclusive interview that they had begun working on the follow-up to last year’s mega-selling Mylo Xyloto.

Chris, 35, told me: “I’ve been writing songs and I’m so fired up about the band’s future.

“I’m fortunate to do what I do and no way do I want to stop. This three-year break idea only came about because I said at a gig in Australia that we might not be back there for three years.

“That’s probably true, but that’s just how a world tour works. No chance are we taking a three-year break.”

The charming frontman was speaking at the launch of an exhibition of Coldplay photos and artwork in aid of children’s charity Kids Company.

And the dad of two reckons working with them inspires the band to keep making music.

Chris said: “If we don’t work hard we make less money to give Kids Company. We’re very spoiled and that’s a constant motivator to keep going. Our work with the charity is ongoing. We just tried to buy a building for them near our studio in London, but got gazumped.

“It was probably Radiohead that outbid us.”

The exhibition includes the huge canvas the band helped paint for the cover of Mylo Xyloto.

Chris laughed: “It’s mildly embarrassing to see the painting again. It’s not exactly a Monet or Matisse.

“But it’s for a good cause and I’m happy to see it because it reminds me of all the ideas we had for the album, which I’m proud of.”
