Just watched it on DVD. It was great, except for a very annoying sound problem (as if a bee was stuck in the speakers, you know what I mean ? :uhoh: ) on most of the songs and during the interviews.

Also, my parents kinda ruined it :uhoh: See, I happen to appear very very very briefly (and not in full :lol: ) twice during the film. Apparently my parents were quite enthusiastic. So, I appear on PoC (well, a quarter of my face, from profile, really), and they're all happy and say "oh yeah I see you were very close!". The other time is during Fix You. This time you can really see my shirt, on the left of the screen, actually you can see most of me except my face, blocked by my neighbor's arm :lol: It's brief, but I show it to my parents and my grand mother who lives at our home. And my mom and my grandma got all "wait, I missed you! Go back!" like 10 times, and "can't you make it work very slow" etc etc, so, well, I got mad and it ruined my mood :lol:

Anyway, Nat, yes we can see that super awesome shirt you designed for me, on the DVD, during Fix You :awesome: It looks amazing :awesome:

Oh, and I found my doppelganger :| After ETIAW, when everyone's clapping, you can see a girl that looks EXACTLY like me, except that's definitely not me, as she wasn't surrounded by the same people I was with that night, and she didn't seem to be front row.

 

Anyway, I had the chance to watch it at the theater already, so about the film there's nothing more for me to add, except perhaps that my favourite moments are definitely UATW (and the little race thing before that), GPASUYF, Charlie Brown and ETIAW (+ The Scientist), and the interview bits. I really love it from beginning to end and that's it :P

My lithograph arrived on Friday. I agree with most of the people on here, it's nothing special. My husband works in print and says the reason (yes it really does look like it was done on an ink jet printer doesn't it? :dozey:) is because it is printed on uncoated paper, so the colours don't 'pop', basically the paper pretty much sucked all the colours into the paper.

I'm wondering what would happen if I laminated it? I'm happy I have it, but I'm not blown away.

I'm really sad for all the people who pre-ordered and still have no clue when their DVD will arrive. It seems amazingly slow, it must be incredibly frustrating.

I received my dvd yesterday (finally!) and I just watched it. It was unbelievable !!! I watched it on cinema, too. But that time, I turned on volume full, and put my headphones, it was like a 2 hours of heaven! Thanks coldplay for that amazing dvd :hug: :kiss:

now I'm gonna watch live 2003 :wacky:

To be precise, it's basically when you start hearing Jonny's guitar, when Chris gets up of his stool. I'm on the far left on the shot where you can see a couple kissing (very nice Texans, they're engaged and had planned a trip to France, starting by the concert :cheesy: the girl had 2 pink Xylobands and I had 2 Yellow, I think, so we exchanged one each before the concert :awesome: ).

 

I hope you'll all get it soon, it's getting weird.

It is very frustrating :-(

I was expecting it would be like Amazon preorder, and would have received it on Tuesday. We were on vacation, and I had a neighbor on look out all week for it. I'm hoping it will come tomorrow. I also still haven't received my calendar that I believe I ordered in October. Very frustrating, indeed!

I didn´t receive it and I´m starting to worry about it...

It's been seven days since they released the DVD and I haven't watched it yet.

The next time I buy something by Coldplay, I will buy it in the stores instead of preordering it... what a shame... :veryangry:

I recieved mine on Saturday and watched it I loved it. It was amazing.

My dvd has just arrived, but I'm really not happy with the video quality, it's all kinda blurry(even the words ''directed by'' and stuff are blurry, the version on youtube is even better) It's not even HD.... Am I the only one experiencing this problem?(I know the Bluray looks crappy from what I've heard, but never heard anything wrong with the DVD)

DVDs aren't HD. DVD resolution is 720x576.

 

Blu-Ray, which it sounds like you don't have, is HD (1920x1080).

 

If the Blu-Ray picture quality is being complained about, the DVD is certainly not going to look any better.

 

Anyway, the only problem with the picture quality is the artificial grain added in postproduction, which I personally don't like, but some might.

The blurriness (and graininess) of this video that you're seeing is a product of the cameras being used and the post-production processing that's being applied to the finished product. A DVD has a native resolution of 480p, which your DVD player and/or HDTV is likely upscaling to 720p, 1080i, or 1080p, depending on your player or display.

 

I'm viewing the film via a Blu-ray player (a Playstation 3 Slim) and a Sharp LC-60LE640U display and it looks blurry at times, and grainy most of the time. Honestly, I would swear that I'm looking at an upscaled 480p DVD instead of a 1080p Blue-ray. My guess is that if were to compare what you're looking at on your system to what you'd see on a Blu-ray, you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

 

Look at the bright side, you saved the $7 to $8 price difference between the DVD and Blu-ray and didn't lose any significant difference in quality in the process ;)
