DVDs aren't HD. DVD resolution is 720x576.

 

Blu-Ray, which it sounds like you don't have, is HD (1920x1080).

 

If the Blu-Ray picture quality is being complained about, the DVD is certainly not going to look any better.

 

Anyway, the only problem with the picture quality is the artificial grain added in postproduction, which I personally don't like, but some might.

Yes, that would complicate matters, but sadly, getting the right version isn't going to cure *all* that ails this video production. However, it should help appreciably with the degree of blurriness you're seeing.

Hay! I think I forgot to tell you guys! I got my lithograph today! n°1148/6000 :D

I'm at school too here in the East coast...and I didn't receive it either. The mail already was sorted for the day too. :(

 

yeah, i still don't have mine.

and now i am just completely fed up with EMI's store. i should have just ordered it off of Amazon or whatever and not gotten the lithograph. i already have the Live poster from the concert i went to anyway, so i don't think i'd have been missing out. :P

I went to check my mail box today, and it was not there :(

Just noticed a peculiar omission on the Blu-ray; the two extra tracks - "Don't Let it Break Your Heart" and "The Scientist" aren't recorded in Dolby 5.1 or DTS-HD audio. They'll only play back in two channel PCM audio modes. Yes, I can configure my home theater receiver to play it back in a synthesized surround mode like Pro Logic II Music or Neo Music, but it's a disappointing drop-off from the aural splendor of DTS-HD :(

Received a reply from customer service saying that my DVD/CD was shipped on Nov 16 and Lithograph on Nov 21.

i got the same reply,

and today I recieved both my CD/DVD and Lithograph, so probably they didn't ship any of it untill Nov 21....

 

Next time i hope Coldplay (or who ever is in charge) choose some other place fix with the pre-order shipments......

Watched mine again last night. Loved it even more than the first time. Even more epic.

Question: Is the DVD or the BR version better? Not in terms of quality but in terms of having DLIBYH and The Scientist in the BR but no Violet Hill.

This is a phenomenally stupid question but I have to ask. The standard DVD does not come with the BR version, right? It's either one or the other?

I really wanted to get DLIBYH from the DVD in an mp3 form for my phone. I found it, if anybody else is interested. It's linked here.
