February 26, 201115 yr "You're So Right," the B-side to "Under Cover of Darkness" (which is also on Angles, so it's a kind of double-A-side), will premiere on radio TOMORROW, Sunday 2/27, between 9 and 10 AM EST. This is the blog post about it, and you can listen live here tomorrow!

February 28, 201115 yr huh? whats wrong? is it a fake? It's Under Cover Of Darkness, the first single. We've had it for weeks. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MHFy66SiSY&feature=player_embedded]YouTube - The Strokes -- You're So Right Radio Rip (TheStrokesNews.com)[/ame] This on the other hand is new, but very poor quality it must be said.

February 28, 201115 yr 30 second previews of each track: http://blogs.1077theend.com/aharms/2011/02/28/the-strokes-angels-album-preview/
March 1, 201115 yr http://consequenceofsound.net/2011/02/check-out-the-strokes-youre-so-right/ -"You're So Right" I love this one a lot more than Under Cover of Darkness. I love the distorted sound. If you've ever listened to Julian's solo album, you can tell that it's reminiscent of that.
March 1, 201115 yr I have kind of mixed feelings about "You're So Right" because it's less "my style" than "Under Cover of Darkness," but I do really think it's a grower. I just kind of had to get over the creepy vibe first. The 30-second previews are AMAZING, though. I think they show real promise, even if they're kind of a bit less classic-sounding than I was hoping for. My instantaneous impression was that it sounds like most of it was recorded in 1986, in the same way that Is This It sounds like it could have been recorded in 1977. Two of them, I won't say which for people that want to save the surprise, sound almost like rip-offs of preexisting songs, though, one of which has been referred to in the track-by-track reviews.
March 2, 201115 yr If you have not seen the "Under Cover of Darkness" video yet, you are seriously, seriously missing out. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_l09H-3zzgA&feature=player_profilepage]YouTube - The Strokes - Under Cover Of Darkness[/ame] :bigcry: :dead:   :bomb:
March 2, 201115 yr UCoD video is amazing. It might even end up beating the YOLO video to become my favorite Strokes music video at some point. Gotta love Warren Fu. He knows how to set a mood.
March 3, 201115 yr The video is so beautiful/wonderful/all-around amazing/well-designed. Go Warren!!
March 3, 201115 yr ^A lot of people are saying that. I think it sounds quite different, though. It has the feel of River of Brakelights, but it sounds more like The Strokes because of the particular guitar sounds in it.
March 9, 201115 yr Listen to Machu Picchu and Taken for a Fool HERE! Both written by the BAMF that is Nick Valensi :wacky: In theory they shouldn't be my vibe because they're so...poppy and 80s, but I think I love them :bigcry:
March 9, 201115 yr OK actually you can't listen there anymore...it looks like the radio station pulled the songs, probably because they weren't authorised to post them yet. This is the SECOND TIME this has happened regarding this album, seemingly. But the songs are like...everywhere on the internet already, haha. Check Twitter or Tumblr if you have them and you're bound to find them... (I'm perfectly aware my Tumblr is filled with fangirlishness, OK :P)
March 9, 201115 yr You go, Katie! I really do admire people that wait just for the willpower. Which is something I don't have when it comes to things like The Strokes. I also just think it adds to my personal experience to get it drip by drip and then hear how it all comes together later--it's part of the experience for me. BUT. I think you are going to LOVE these two songs :wacky:. I have a newfound appreciation for Valensi.
