@batman,how can you dislike "a message"? that song is like a poster for coldplay...like if i needed to pick a song for smone who has nt heard chris b4,dat song would be a gr8 pick...besides most of ur other disliked songs are some of my favorites..... What a world!!

1.)A Spell A Rebel Yell

-Absolutely hate the background noise. I can barely hear the vocals. Always skipped when I go through all of the Viva Era Songs.

2.) Up With The Birds

-I only don't like the beginning part b4 it gets more exciting.

3.) A Sky Full Of Stars

-Avicii did a great job in EDM terms. But, it's not Coldplay. It would be better on an Avicii album. I would love to hear the Coldplay version untouched by Avicii though.

4.) O (Excluding Fly On)

-Would never imagine this being a Coldplay work. Probably the furthest piece away from Coldplay's previous albums besides Midnight. (I didn't include Midnight because it's a good piece to listen to in a night sleep)

Wow, my mind gets blown away with some answers in this thread. I perfectly understand that everyone has a different opinion, but damn!! I didn't know some Coldplay classics were so hated by Coldplayers!! The only thing that's lacking here is someone saying that Politik sucks!!!!

It's really unpopular opinion, but I cannot stand most of X&Y's B-sides. And it's funny because X&Y is my favorite Coldplay album. Gravity is pretty okay, but Things I Don't Understand and Proof just bore me to tears. How You See The World is great, though. And add Atlas (genuinely hate it), Up In Flames and Charlie Brown to the list too.

 

Princess of China isn't great, but it's good. I would bet that if it didn't have Rihanna, the reception would be much more positive. I actually find myself listening to the instrumental more because I fuckin' love the music itself. I remember thinking how great it sounded when it was Chris-only at the Rock Im premiere. Just all around very well crafted.

To say I'm shell shocked does not even begin to describe how I feel... Maybe it's because of geography.I'm 4rm Nigeria,and coldplay isn't a big deal here...i'm yet to meet up to 5 people here who are as crazy about coldplay as i am... Anyways i'm pretty sure that the standout coldplay songs which many of you dislike are among the favorite coldplay songs that many folks here listen to e.g P.O.C,PARADISE,LOST,MAGIC,SPEED OF SOUND,etc...

the other songs imo: POC is awful, paradise isn't well structured, magic is ok but nothing special, Lost is good

On the subject of Coldplay,i've always wondered why they only ever won just one grammy for "Clocks"..... Does anyone have any ideas why this is so?
