Aw I should have asked him at the concert on Friday. He was only a few feet away from me after all!

Those familiar with the band's oeuvre will recognize their signature in the synth-heavy "Human," four minutes of sweeping, epic rock, on which Flowers sings: "My sign is vital/ My hands are cold/ And I'm on knees, looking for the answer/ Are we human, or are we dancer?" He says the lyrics were inspired by a disparaging comment made by Hunter S. Thompson about how America was raising a generation of dancers. But the song also had some help from album producer Stuart Price (aka Jacques LuCont), known for his work with Madonna and Missy Elliot, and who'd previously remixed "Mr. Brightside." "He was the icing on the cake," says Stoermer.

"We had just put 'Human' together, and we wound up shooting over to his house after dinner [in London]," Flowers recalls of his first time in the studio with Price. "A few hours later, we had something very close to what you hear now. I was on cloud nine." He continues: "When we walked into his flat, the first thing I saw was picture of the cover of The Man Who Sold the World, and further down the stairs there was a picture of Eno in his Roxy Music days. I just kind of felt that we'd found our man."

Just received a ticket alert from eventim.de! :D

The Killers will perform in Germany in March 2009:

13.03.09 Fr Düsseldorf

14.03.09 Sa Berlin

16.03.09 Mo München

Perhaps I will go to Berlin to see them there for the second time of my life. It depends on how good the new album will be. :D

Thought it was interesting that in this interview at hammerstein ballroom, Chris said "Human" was his #1 played song on his Ipod.

Humans a good pop song.

When I first heard it I though surely he's not saying 'dancer'. I looked up the lyrics online and it said 'denser', like dense or thick headed. hmm

well...denser can mean several different things. To call some one dense means thick-headed, but it can also refer to being more complex.

i would actually be really happy if it was denser. i dont like the lyric 'are we human or are we dancer' at alllll.

Q Review

That Q review better be a one off considering that I'm already disappointed by the Keane album (although it has a couple of great songs).

If this album doesn't pull through though, I'm sure Prospekt's March will pull through for me. Thank God for Coldplay :D

It is "denser". It just fucking has to be.

Q only gave the new Bloc Party one three stars, so what the fuck do they know. I wouldn't be too worried.

you cant judge albums by what the critics say, they like you are music fans and nothing more. some of my most favourite albums were very very poorly received but i dont give a damn.

the killers have never been the most critically acclaimed band but that hasnt stopped me from thoroughly enjoying all their music.

I kinda know that, but I can't bring myself to say it. Like NME gave the new Keane album 2/10 and I thoroughly enjoyed some of it. I've heard some of the new songs from Youtube and I really like em so I guess we'll just have to see.

It's definitely DANCER. I guess I'll post this again since no one seems to have noticed:

So when MTV News caught up with Flowers last week at the Killers' NYC show, we decided to ask him about the chorus controversy. "It's taken from a quote by [author Hunter S.] Thompson. ... 'We're raising a generation of dancers,' and I took it and ran. I guess it bothers people that it's not grammatically correct, but I think I'm allowed to do whatever I want," he laughed. " 'Denser'? I hadn't heard that one. I don't like 'denser.' " So, there you go. It's "dancer," and don't you forget it.

Yeah during VLV at the Izod center on the 27th, I don't remember what part it was, but Chris sang "I'm on my knees...looking for the answer" and my friend and I had just seen the Killers two days earlier so it was pretty funny. He also said "Oh I see someone up here wearing a Killers t-shirt, great band."

The studio version of Spaceman just got released on iTunes today. Anyone have it and/or care to upload?? It sounds AWESOME from the streaming version I've heard.

Q have been pretty dum lately,

And its denser... if you listen hard enough thats what he says. Dancer wouldn't make sense, the rest of the phrase suits it.

Its DENSER!

my flat mate was singing along to it tho, adding dancer...

..but brandon has said himself that it is "dancer"..in an interview with zane lowe the other night and before that

MasoKnight is correct......when sumone said to brandon that people had been thinking it was "denser" he was quite shocked and was like "haven't heard that one before"

Highlight of - apart from that - the worst EMA's ever! ;)

sorry, but i am really dissapointed with "human" & "spaceman"...

both of them seems like a madona hit.

It says denser to me, since otherwise the lyric is pretty terrible.

dumb question but aren't dancers human? i am not in love with the song but am jamming right now to Jenny, love it
