June 25, 200916 yr The Killers announce plans to release covers album The Killers' Brandon Flowers and Ronnie Vanucci have told NME.COM that the band are planning to record an album of covers before the end of the year. Speaking in this week's issue of NME (out nationwide on June 24) about their plans for the release, the two said they've been thinking hard about which acts they'd like to include on the album. "It's something that we've always talked about doing and we're still talking about," Flowers said. "It's difficult for each of us to pick songs that represent us as individuals. I mean, I have a lot of personalities myself! I've gone through everything from Neil Diamond to The Cars." Vanucci cited acts including "Genesis, Tom Waits, a little Cyndi Lauper, Iggy Pop" as his preferred choices for the album, adding that he's also been "messing around with a couple of Fleet Foxes songs" recently. The drummer continued by saying that the band are planning to work on the album while on their current tour, explaining that The Killers have taken a mobile recording rig on the road with them. "It sounds excellent," he noted. The Killers are set to headline Hard Rock Calling in London tomorrow (June 26). To read the full interview with Flowers and Vanucci, make sure you pick up this week's issue if NME (available on newsstands across the country from June 24). Source: NME.com

June 29, 200916 yr Vanucci cited acts including "Genesis, Tom Waits, a little Cyndi Lauper, Iggy Pop" as his preferred choices for the album, adding that he's also been "messing around with a couple of Fleet Foxes songs" recently.] The Killers covering Fleet Foxes?! I can't wait to hear that.
June 30, 200916 yr I just got a The Killers album, after never hearing them before. BMG Music was giving away 4 free cds, and I picked Day & Age as one of them. It came yesterday, and I've had it on repeat since then, it's such a great album. :) Now I have to pick up their other albums. Any recommendations?
July 1, 200916 yr Now I have to pick up their other albums. Any recommendations? Most people will probably say Hot Fuss, but I'd strongly recommend listening to Sam's Town! It's an absolutely beautiful and amazing album. :nice:
July 1, 200916 yr Just steer clear of Sawdust at first. It's basically a B-side collection. All 3 main albums have a different sound to them, so don't be expecting the same material with each. I'm not sure how to describe them individually, but I can say that Hot Fuss is certainly the "rockiest".
July 2, 200916 yr I picked up Hot Fuss, I'm listening to it right now. I have Sam's Town on order, it'll probably be in tomorrow. I really like this sound. It's different than Day & Age, more rock oriented than dancy pop, but still very good. Why hadn't I heard this band before?

July 7, 200916 yr So cool!!! The videos are amazing, give Niki a big  ! :D I knew there had to be a Killers thread somewhere on this forum ! So hi, TK fans! ;) I loved their Werchter performance. Brian was all smiles, it was just perfect. The setlist was a bit different than last month in Landgraaf. No Bones, but Joyride and many more songs from D&A. Wonder what the RAH-DVD will be like, they were filming it tonight :)

July 9, 200916 yr so what about the Killers covering this? it would be sooo great Oh I love that song. That made me think of Landgraaf... Brandon (almost typed Brian again ) singing with Bruce was one of the best moments of that festival
July 10, 200916 yr so what about the Killers covering this? it would be sooo great Most definitely. There are some Bruce songs, however, that are untouchable, like BTR. If they had their serious A-game on though, they might be able to pull this one off, which is beyond epic.
