FLIFIL has gone down in my estimation and is has We Pray this song here is the first one so far that actually resembles my favourite era of Coldplay the Viva-GS era 

Geez guys. Yes, you can have opinions of stuff being perfect or horrible, very true but no need to call out people on that and be rude. Reel it back for a hot sec, there's no winning on the internet. 

iAAM is really solid and excited to hear the high quality version. I agree with a lot of folks on here saying it's too short though and that lyrically it's not as good as Oldplay still. But I don't know, Moon Music is shaping up to be a very standard sounding Coldplay album, which perhaps is fitting for Album #10. 

There's something rather safe sounding about most ofthe songs now, it feels like the band wanted to reel back some of the experimental pomp of the last record and give fans something more straightforward. The comparisons of DAAHF are obvious but there's definitely a AHFOD/MOTS lyrical and production style as well.

I've listened to the high(er) quality leak and I definitely like it more. The lyrics are a bit crap in parts (mainly the first chorus) but the song has a huge amount of energy. I fully expect the song to become a mainstay of Coldplay's live shows in the future. Like Feels Like I'm Falling in Love I think this one will really come alive when it's played live.

As for the lyrics, I think there is potential with what's already there to make the song a bit more bittersweet. I can tell from some of the lyrics that there was an element of that - I think of it as someone apoligising for their past self and trying to explain how they've got better over the years. However, I think Coldplay have yet again swerved too much into the love song lyrics.

That said, the instrumental is really really good, and I think in some ways surpasses even Coloratura. For once I think they got the mixing right, which is a rare achievement for Coldplay post-Ghost Stories.

I think the Death and All His Friends comparison works the best when the song is not viewed as DAAHF 2, but rather the modern Coldplay equivalent of it.

I tried using modding tools to export the song from game files. But modding tools are not yet that compatible with the game. I can see the song in game files but can't export the audio file.

yeah I agree, the instrumental is fantastic at least in the version I heard. The only major thing that connects every Coldplay era  (when it sounds good) is Jonny's guitar and some other instrumental, whether it's cool drumming (LOST!, AOAL) great bass (Magic, Sparks) and more often than not, piano/acoustic guitar/synths (first five albums The Astronaut). The genre may change, the production may change, but if Jonny is present the songs are so tasty, and iAAM really soars in this regard. 

Fingers crossed the songs we haven't heard yet (Moon Song, Jupiter, Rainbow Emoji, final AML) have strong Jonny parts I think I'm going to really like this album.

MOTS, for all its faults (and my lord there were faults) was at least adventurous. Everything we've heard from MM so far has played it very safe, perhaps a little too safe. We're getting some pretty bland middle-ground sounding stuff, which has me worried. I wonder if it's a production/mixing thing. A song like iAAM really should be leaping from the speakers and raising hairs, but it's sonically the same kind of meh that FLIFIL is. Both songs (and We Pray) just lack a punch, for lack of a better term. 

I'd like to give my two cents, very simple thoughts. The instrumental is absolutely beautiful, and this song should slap when performed live. I can already imagine being at a concert and watching Jonny do what he does best. The Singapore soundcheck was the first taste.
And the lyrics, while admittedly rather simple, go straight to the heart. I can't remember the last time I was moved to tears by a song on the first listen, maybe never. It's just that with everything one goes through sometimes, I think I somehow felt the lyrics very close to me, as if they were my thoughts translated into song. I think that's what Chris has always done best, emotional and relatable lyrics. You just have to hear how it paints that picture of resilience, of being a mountain in the face of the storm, of finally gaining the courage one day to believe that you can handle anything the world throws at you.
I don't know, maybe it's just me. But I'm grateful beyond words for the song and I hope to have the chance to hear it live one day.

That's the weird thing to me, MOTS had really punchy production. Even the songs I dislike from that album hit pretty hard sonically; be it the thick 80s sheen of Higher Power, the pounding dance beats of My Universe or the head-banging energy behind POTP. All the songs from MM so far have that stuff toned down and buried in the background somewhere, and it just sounds flat. It's especially noticeable with FLIFIL and iAAM which are meant to be slow burners that built into a giant climax, but they don't work because the mix is pretty much the same the whole way through. 

The problem with the new songs is not the production, not the instrumental but the mix. And one element in particular: Chris. I find the lead vocals maybe too present, too much above the other elements. Which in one way is not a bad thing cause you can hear the melody very clearly, but maybe less present vocals make the rest shine and do justice to Jonny, for example. But all the ingredients are there, there's nothing missing, if you know what I mean. That's my opinion.

Just listened to the "leak". Very good effort, wished it would be at least 4 minutes though... Instrumental is fantastic, lyrics are meh but not horrible. They still have it in them (Jonnys guitar!) so I really hope that self-titled album would consist of some songs like this at worst and 1st four albums at best.
