R&B act Ne-Yo has clinched the top UK singles chart position from rock band Coldplay. The US singer's record Closer climbed one spot from last week, edging Coldplay's new release Viva la Vida into second place. I don't know if there is a thread like this one, but, anyway, it has been always in my mind what album represents the band members and the name "Coldplay" more. So far, for me X & Y fits them more to me, I mean, the album artwork, the style of the album, is just, that everytime I think of the name "Coldplay", it always comes X & Y. So, what about you guys?

Among ones that were listed as possible, but didn't make it are... * Poppy Fields * Leftrightleftrightleft * Rainy Day * Famous Old Painters * Glass Of Water * Prospekt's March * Postcards From Far Away * Lukas The Goldrush and Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground were also mentioned... but The Goldrush we've heard, and NMFWTTG is probably another name for Strawberry Swing. So... thoughts? Hopefully, we'll see this as B-sides on future singles. I certainly hope so.

Well, I've recently switched my PC to a Coldplay wallpaper. It's one of the numerous wallpapers that have been extracted from the newest iTunes commercials, and let me tell you, it looks fantastic. Still, in an effort to make everything I own branded by my favorite band... So, I'm shouting out to everyone who knows how to work their magic on photos and graphics: Would it be possible to create a Coldplay iPhone wallpaper? The resolution is 320x480 (pixels). You can make it of anything you want... though, personally, I think Viva la Vida-related stuff (especially the iTunes commercial) is the coolest. Still, this can be for everyone!

Hey guys I was just reading articles on how Viva La Vida fell short of being oasis's record for most sold albums in one week in the UK. well, coldplay sold of 500,000 albums while Oasis sold something like 650,000. However, I'd like to remind the people writing these that this is in the age of free music downloading, where most people now download music for free. I'm a big fan of Brian Eno's, but I've read countless accusations against him on this website about some shit he's apparently been talking, something to do with him taking too much credit for the new album. When and where was this said? And if anyone has any links to interviews, etc., I'd appreciate greatly to give them a listen or a view.

you can add the 300K of the UK from the first 3 days... and its like wow. like 3 years I'm checking this chart and I never saw numbers like this. I saw 1.2 I think but 1.6 its like the best ever... serious. and if we had the more 300K they sold like 2 million copies in 10-12 days... Unbelievable.
