2001 was quite a year for me music wise. Of course with the horrible events of Semptember 11th, the world watched as so many innocent lives died. People came together and were unified stronger than i've ever seen. I remember watching a tribute for 9/11 called "The Concert for NY". Being only in 8th grade, it was quite scary to live at this time, but this concert was very moving, and showed how music could help to bring people together and rise up even after such a tragedy. 2002 I'll be honest here. The only reason I wanted to do 2002 is because I want to spread some Johnny Cash love (in this year he released his last record while he was still alive). I actually discovered that a lot of albums I still listen to today were released in 2002. And 2002 was a pretty damn good year for music. In 2002 I didn't listen to much music, though. Hello fellow Coldplay fans! A few months ago, my friend and I started covering a few Coldplay songs. We then decided to form an "acoustic band". After thinking for hours, we came up with "ColdKovers" (the K just looked so much cooler than the C):cool: We started off with a few songs from the A Rush of Blood To The Head album (which we are almost done covering) and played The Scientist for our first gig at a school show of 400 people. 'Cause there isn't a thread for them and 'cause I've been getting into their music lately! When I listen to something new, I pay attention to music a lot more than to the lyrics, I look up the lyrics if I like the music a lot. And Late of the Pier's got some good tunes. My current favourites are Space and the Woods and Bathroom Gurgle. I listened to Fantasy Black Channel somewhere around New Year, thought it was okay at first.
