Reilly Posted March 11, 2013 Share Posted March 11, 2013 The Aviator 8/10 Intriguing, entertaining, could easily give it 9 but possibly I'm so impressed because I wasn't expecting it to be this good (I didn't think Hughes' unbelievable life would translate well to a 'based on' dramatization) and also the last handful of films I've seen were quite poor, but definitely a solid 8. For a guy who made his fortune on oil well drill bits, he did all right in some of his other ventures, but a movie about well drilling equipment just wouldn't be all that exciting - a little too real, a little too dull, even though they're diamond studded.
