Yet again something is taken seriously when it was not meant to be \o/

one of the world's downfalls

My reaction was kind of serious, but I didn't take her reaction seriously. I can think. Thank you.

You'd rather want me to post something like "OH MY GOD YEAH ME TOOOO"?

this [/url]will do. If you're in a reading mood; leave your comment. ;)

Imagine being in her position: of course there are good things. That are the things the whole world is able to see. But on the other hand; you have to be ten times more careful about your children, the paparazi likes to be anywhere you want to be; if you don't fake your smile hard enough they think you're breaking up, sick or suicidal; strangers think they are allowed to claim you anytime; your vision about the world might be a little surrealistic; you can't go where you want whenever you want; you can't have a quarrel on the street with your partner; if you say no to something or somebody people might think you're arrogant, if you eat fish people might think you don't care about the environment ; people like you because of your money, you don't know what to do with your money at all; you think the world is unfair, but your wages don't look very fair either; the next generation is waiting for you to fail; everybody has got an opinion about you; you even got your own thread at an internet forum of people who think your husband is the best next thing after eating chocolate... I won't speak about the pervs who are willing to offer your husband some Fair Trade orange juice with GHB. ;)

Gorgeous skin: ever heard of wrinkles? Every human being gets them sometime. Here is where you score a point: she's not as fresh as you, so I bet your skin looks a lot younger. Forget the loads of M.A.C. oh I'm sorry; Chanel/whatever is tested on animals. ;) I bet Miss Paltrow has got as many insecure moments as you and I. But if she doesn't feel comfortable in a dress the whole world is watching.

Beautiful husband: nobody is perfect, you don't know the Homo Sapiens behind the facade. Maybe you think his imperfections are just lovely but I'm sure you haven't met him with stinky socks watching some stupid tv-show making stupid jokes when you're tired and just want to talk to him about how tough your day was. (Women...)

Cute kids: it's a fact that people who don't have kids are happier than people with kids. But that's another discussion.

Well, its quite a generalization to say that...even if some poll says it is "true":)

I didn't base that sentence on just one silly survey from the University of Utopia or Disneyland College; there are lots of trustworthy sources that confirm the same. Search and you will find.

Speaking in general you are right though.

Yeah I know. I've seen the survey/study you are referring to.

Kids are a lot of damn trouble and cause extra stress but I would never say I was happier before I had my child.:)

Lol. Neither would I. They call it love blind I guess... ;-)

Film Premiere

Gwyneth Paltrow cuts a striking figure in Chanel at the screening of her new film Two Lovers at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival on Monday in Cannes, southern France.

Two Lovers is a Brooklyn-set romantic drama about a bachelor (Joaquin Pheonix) torn between the family friend his parents wish he would marry and his beautiful but volatile new neighbor (Paltrow).

Joining Gwyn, 35, on the red carpet was director James Gray, Italian designer Valentino, Israeli actor Moni Moshonov and US actress Vinessa Shaw.

Review

That tuxedoed and gowned audience you might have seen running from the Palais in Cannes around midnight Monday after the premiere of "Two Lovers" was just trying to stay out of the rain. Really.

In the main theater, stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Vinessa Shaw and co-writer and director James Gray received a five-minute standing ovation immediately before the skies let loose and all those bejeweled guests who didn't bring umbrellas made a beeline for cover once the poignant drama was over.

Next door in a simultaneous Salle Debussy press screening, the reaction was not quite as swell. The film was a last-minute entry in the competition and unusually didn't even screen for press until about 15 minutes before playing for the premiere crowd in the big house next door so it really was an all-around Cannes premiere.

Star Joaquin Phoenix didn't make the trip to the South of France this time, although he has now starred in all three of Gray's Cannes competition films, including last year's "We Own The Night" and "The Yards" in 2000 (not a bad track record -- Gray definitely has friends in the film programming department here).

As with "We Own The Night," which was also produced by Mark Cuban and Todd Wagner's 2929 Productions, "Two Lovers" is looking for a distribution sale. "Night" actually sold to Sony just before it's official screening for nearly $12 million last year but was considered a box office disappointment and award-season bust when it opened last October.

We spotted distribution execs from companies like Sony Pictures Classics and Overture going into the theater and, of course, Harvey Weinstein who at Miramax released "The Yards" and is a major booster of Paltrow (both won their Oscars for Harvey's "Shakespeare in Love").

Paltrow looked stunning in a full-length, somewhat low-cut blue gown with black feathery straps (sorry I'm not a fashion maven), her pulled-back hairstyle and dripping earrings appropriately chic for the tony occasion.

She was clearly the star of the moment in Cannes before Angelina Jolie regains the crown tomorrow night at her "Changeling" premiere. Paltrow's latest release, "Iron Man " has just hit $225 million domestically heading for $300 mil.

When Paltrow entered the theater she didn't see Harvey but made a direct path to Sean P. Combs giving him a nice kiss (not sure what he was doing there but he walked the Oscar red carpet too).

Beautiful sometime-model Shaw makes herself look a little dour in the film where she plays a nice girl who watches "The Sound of Music" a lot and dates Leonard (Phoenix's fragile character) who moved back in with his parents after a suicide attempt.

Leonard also pines for the dangerous and vulnerable Paltrow who lives in the apartment just across the alley although she is involved in a dead-end relationship with a married man.

It's a change of pace for Paltrow who gets to play complicated here and does a solid job. Phoenix nicely underplays a romantically confused young man and Shaw reminds us of Hilary Swank in her close-ups.

Having seen one minimalist film after another, the audience seemed grateful to see a good old-fashioned love story steam up the screen again. This is kind of movie Hollywood regularly turned out in the '50s and '60s with echoes of everything from "Marty" to "Breakfast At Tiffany's" to "The Apartment" to "Love With The Proper Stranger."

Given the star power of "Two Lovers" it would be a surprise if a distribution sale weren't already in the works, unless buyer's remorse from last year's "We Own the Night" still haunts the acquisition crowd.

Its great to see her back on form, our magazines here are saying YET again that Chris and Gwyneth have split or rather having a trail seperation, they are saying, new hair do, new look, and what comes next is a new man, this is awful gossip I hope.

Well she's wearing her wedding ring so I'd say it's definitely gossip.

The press are so stupid, changing your hair doesn't mean you're looking for a new man...Chris' hair is always changing, does that mean he's looking for a new woman?

Or Jonny... :P

I think, like a lot of us, that the press sees them as an unlikely couple. They are grasping so just in case their marriage does fail, they can say - see we knew there was something wrong.

Now, me, I just want Chris for myself:D

I think they're quite alike though, I know she comes from Hollywood royalty and he comes from middle England but they share so many of the same interests.

They're both tall and fair, they both love music, films and have devilish sense of humours. They both enjoy good, healthy food and exercise and socialising with famous friends...

Then again I may have just become used to the thought of them together, it has been like six years. :D

Yeah, I'm pretty used to them together. They couldn't have stayed together this long if they weren't well matched. I just hope they do stay together for the sake of Apple and Moses:)

Me too :)

More from Cannes:

Gwyneth Paltrow attends the Two Lovers Photocall at the Palais des Festivals during the 2008 Cannes Film Festival on Monday in Cannes, France.

Joining Gwyn, 35, for the photocall was director James Gray and US actress Vinessa Shaw.

Gwyn told ET that it was her first time at Cannes! “I’ve never been here, no, this is my first time!” she exclaimed, before adding later, “I’m going to work a lot, and then I’m going to go home to my babies,” she said.

Those rerorts are soooo desperate! So since I cut my hair and buy a new dress, im going to divorce my husband? *rolls eyes* rigggght.....must be a slow celeb news day. LOL.

Gwyneth actually has looked really happy lately, almost glowing. I hope her and Chris stick with each other. I really like how their private and stick to their guns about family life being not public at all.

Gwyneth's wedding ring is a beauty :)

But is it a little weird to pose like that? Why does she have her hand on her chest like that? Is it to show off her ring? I mean, I would pose like that too if Chris Martin gave me that ring:laugh3::laugh3:

Maybe she's holding her dress up, us small bosomed girls can't really wear strapless numbers :P

well you think her 12 stylists could figure out a way to hold that gorgeous dress up....she needs some of that tape Chris used to use on his fingers;)

Haha, electric tape? Maybe she should.

Is a lovely dress though, I think I'd wear that even if it was four sizes too big.

How much fun she must have...glam it up when you want and then put on some jeans and play with your kids...so jealous:dozey:

The woman must have a closet the size of MSG just for her shoes.

I hope they have some kind of GPS tracking on the kids - they could get lost in there:P
