Random Coldplay thoughts...

It's been ages since I've posted on here. I was listening to X&Y on loop the other day and suddenly remembered that I had an account on here. I posted mostly during the Mylo Xyloto rollout, and when I think about it, I was probably more pumped for that album release than any other album I've ever waited for. It was just a really fun time with the graffiti theme, the live videos that were popping up, the tracklist speculation... Good times.

Thanks ! Oh, why, can't you get one where you are ? Actually I bought mine used. Because I have all the stuff already as MP3s but the actual feeling of holding that case in your hand and putting the disc in the player is a different one, that's why I buy the discs now.

Oh, all right. Sorry to hear that. Second-hand CDs, like I buy them, usually are very cheap (although of course I don't know if this is true for the Philippines too, I can only speak of Europe), but they may be rare, I don't know.

Sent you a PM, please check :-)

Recently saw an eBay offer that only said "Coldplay 2 CD", and when I clicked on it, in the description instead of stating the albums' real titles it just said:

1. Fallschirme

2. Ein Ansturm von Blut in den Kopf

:D :D :D

(a literal german description of Parachutes and AROBTTH...Parachutes was correct at least, while the AROBTTH translation sounds weird...I'd prefer "Ein Rausch von Blut in den Kopf" or, more freely translated, "Ein Anstieg von Blut bis zum Kopf", for the german language speakers around :P)

Glad they wrote Coldplay at least and not "Kaltspiel" (oh, that does sound weird too !!) ;)

And even though I'm a fierce opponent of monarchy and consequently never watch royal ceremonies or whatsoever, it was pointed out to me by a friend who watched the Sweden wedding today that there are some minutes that Coldplayers maybe would find worth watching (starting at 21:30):

jon hopkins on working with coldplay

Do you learn anything from working with – or touring – with a band like Coldplay? On that scale, that level of popularity?

I don’t think there’s any overlap. It was an amazing experience, and we all became good friends. I always admired… even though the final output isn’t experimental, there’s always a lot in there. Especially on the Viva album, which is the one I did most on. I did hardly any on the last one, but I did quite a lot on Viva. That’s the one Eno came in on, and he brought me in. They’re got very experimental tastes, although those ideas aren’t always at the forefront of songs. And it was really interesting to see it come together every night. But it didn’t really translate into something that I would do. It wasn’t inspiring in that way.
