September 20, 200916 yr so I read here on the front page - from the moderators - that London was filmed for a DVD. People attendings said there were ony few cameras - so is it in anyway confirmed that London really was filmed?
September 20, 200916 yr For all we know Coldplay might choose to release an American Tour DVD ánd a European Tour DVD. And EMI knows the big fans will buy both. Ka-ching!
September 20, 200916 yr The same people who made the Live 2003 DVD were there (with the middlefinger logo).
September 20, 200916 yr here's that what the moderators of this board said: http://www.coldplaying.com/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=6689 LONDON - is it true? Where was this info taken from?
September 20, 200916 yr So I've followed this very closely as I have a lot invested. United Center was the first leg filming for the Lost! video as well presumably for the archives as a first leg show. Now until June, that was the only show filmed, until Vancouver. Where Chris said many times DVD, but Rodies had told people it was for the archives. It is now clear Barcelona was the DVDs intended location, and a good one it would have been. But, sound fucked up and well, not going to happen with the audience chanting "we cant hear you" Apparently, they filmed Fridays show, but I have only seen the one line on the main page. So What I suspect it they may be forced to go with either Wembley which apparently was lackluster. Barcelona, which sound was messed up on. Vancouver, which may not of ever been intended for releases (absence of the crane). Or Chicago, which was leg one. We will get a DVD though.
September 20, 200916 yr The Wembley gig wasn't lackluster, or was it? I was front row, so I didn't pay much attention to the crowd behind me.
September 21, 200916 yr It is now clear Barcelona was the DVDs intended location, and a good one it would have been. But, sound fucked up and well, not going to happen with the audience chanting "we cant hear you" The sound problems probably won't be a problem for DVD. That sound is recorderd apart than what audience hear. And I think they didn't notice their selves in Violet Hill because they are using in-ears. If they heard them selfs they don't even notice what the crowd is screaming. And also the amplifiers and drums do have a huge volume so they had no idea. And if their in-ears where working, the DVD sound is then good too. And the problem with the audience is no problem at all. They can ofcourse cut those parts where they are chanting 'We can't hear you'. That's easy to do because they record the audience in different places than their music playing. Amps >> Mixer >> In-ears & recording hardware & speakers etc. >> audience. And the problem could have been in the step between Mixer >> speakers.
September 21, 200916 yr Maybe it will be a combo of different shows, but yeah, I think either way we are getting one... BTW, they filmed both the Dallas and Houston shows too since I saw camera men at the front, especially in Dallas. So maybe they recorded all shows, and only recorded the above mentioned with a professional crew?
September 21, 200916 yr All shows!!! A massive DVD with more than one concert so we can over-coldplay ourselves!! Hurraay!!! And a massive behind-the-scenes tour diary which last for four days in total running time!!! Then a special in-the-studio video looking at the making of the album and then another CD full of all the award ceremonies and live performances for them - with commentary!! In fact, 4 lucky customers will recieve an actual member of the band in their boxset DVD! (I mean 5, how could I forget the Philminator).

I think they had those cameras at all shows (also saw them in SA) and I think those were mainly for filming the images projected onto the big screens (of the audience, too). I really, really hope there's a dvd, but I wonder if they will... I mean, there was the MTV World Stage performance that aired AND they gave away LRLRL- a live cd... if a Viva release followed the format of the Live 2003 DVD, we've really already seen the live concert and gotten a live cd. I sooooo hope for one, though. I do think the fact that R#42 made all those incredible videos bodes well for an excellent tour diary, though! All shows!!! September 21, 200916 yr I need to have a Viva tour DVD so I can relive the concert over and over again! I so hope they put one out.
September 21, 200916 yr I've found this announcement on the floor nearby A entrance on September, 18th... during a queue pause for toilet... and i immediately sent a text message to Ian... This is the proof:
September 21, 200916 yr I saw a young guy taking video footage on a really cool looking portable video camera in front of the stage.... he took lots of the guys and lots of the crowd. (This was on the 19th)

(This was on the 19th) I know what you mean, there were 2 people (I think) with those video cameras, a guy and a girl.
September 21, 200916 yr Inside scoop... picture taken @ wembley gig crew meeting before the show starts:
September 21, 200916 yr I soooo want a live DVD from Wembley ! And the second night would be better :P
September 21, 200916 yr Same. I'd love a live DVD. My camera broke literally 10 seconds before they walked on stage. I'd trade my Girls Aloud, White Lies and Jay-Z photos for one of Coldplay up close any day. I also heard from a random security guard that filming was taking place on the 18th (the day I went to Wembley)
