Sounds a bit like Japanese Boy by Aneka the way they've done it

Listening to it for the 1st time, my first impression is pretty much how I expected it, not sure what to think about the voice effects but I really like the guitar riffs! :D

Hurts Like Heaven is a great song, but not is the better of the album

It's growing a little on me, but I'm still really disappointed with the vocal effects, especially in the beginning - it almost sounds as if Chris is a robot singing underwater...ridiculous. But I guess it's easy to get used to, and the guitar is awesome.

The sound of the drums reminds me of Arcade Fire's "Sprawl II" (just the sound, not the rythm), which is a good thing :P

It's one of their best songs, no doubt. Can't say that about any others after my first listen.

Where is Johnny's guitar riff in the verse? :/

It's a fantastic opener. It sounds a bit weird though, because MX swells up a lot during the end, and then it swells down again at the start of HLH, like it isn't properly mixed or something.

At the end of the day I love it. Yes, it's different to live, but it's cool we can have two versions. Amazing melody and use of computer. Definitely one of the best from MX.

Gutted, it's nowhere near as good as the live :(

freaking awasome!!

I think it's amazing, really love it!

I knew the vocals would be like this, because if you listen on youtube..people already uploaded the backing tracks that were played softly during the live versions.

So in a way I was expecting this...maybe that is why I love it so much

still very good, but all those electronic voices are a bit disturbing... a pity :(

The sparkling guitar is definitely the highlight of the song. Once I get used to the really not-Coldplay vocals I think I'll love the song.

i like the alien-like feel. it's spacy and driving. it's amazing. Mylo Xyloto really does compliment it though, which is lovely

bizarre

i was one of the rare people who didn't really like the live version of HLH.

it was a cool song, but the rawness of the live version kind of made it uninteresting to me.

now, since the studio version of HLH is full of effects...

it's still a cool song and it's super interesting.

so after a handful of listens through the entire album... studio HLH is a favorite.

It's ok, but live is much better.

THIS

ARRR I heard it and I was like.... huh, it's a lot different than what I expected. Then again I think ALL of the songs are WAY different than what I expected.

It's my favorite on the album right now, absolutely beautiful!

It sounded weird and different from the live version the first time round but it grows on me.

I started laughing, it was just sooo weird listening to the studio version!! I'm not sure I like it, def better live. We'll see, I will probably get used to it. Overall, the album does sound different than I thought it would be despite hearing more than half of it in live performances and early downloads from iTunes...I'm sure the album will be a favourite after a few more listens.

I love some things are not live, like some piano chords and other tiny things you can hear carefully. The end still gives me chills :guitarist:

Really like the album version, its very produced but that doesn't ruin it as it has with other songs like Major minus, that sounds better live
